sell/trade Jay Miner autographed A1000?
« on: March 06, 2012, 09:52:51 AM »
Hi,
I'm entertaining the thought of selling/trading my prized Jay Miner autographed A1000 as seen here http://www.amiga.org/gallery/index.php?n=692 to aid me in acquiring an Amigaone X1000.

I know that the signature is %100 genuine but I would be willing to send it to a community trusted third party so that it could be authenticated for the buyer/trader if such a thing could be arranged. I would like it to go to a serious collector that would display it at Amiga shows or at an Amiga museum. I will not ebay it period, to many rip offs.

I am open to serious offers from serious community known collectors only. (I want it to go to a very good home.). I am only willing to part with my prized Amiga collectable to the right party in order to aid me in acquiring an Amigaone X1000.

Serious offers from serious Amiga collectors only please.
Thanks
T.

Hmm.. I find it kind of strange that there has been so many views to my post here and not one response so far with any kind of offer, comment, question or even a suggestion on how I might find the right kind of buyer.

Am I wrong in thinking that a serious Amiga collector would want this? Am I wrong in thinking that this should go to the right kind of collector? one who would display it at Amiga shows or in an Amiga museum collection? Or should I even care where it ends up? How can I reach such an audience other than by a posting such as this here?

I want to get myself a new Amigaone, be it an X1000 from the next batch if they make any more or I will get myself a Sam460ex. So I'm offering up a Jay Miner autographed A1000 to the right home for cash/trade or a partial trade and I pay cash towards an Amigaone system. I also have other Amiga collectables that I may offer up as well in order to aid me in getting an Amigaone system.

So please, any comments and suggestions that would help me find the right home for this Amiga would be appreciated.
Thanks
T.

@ Crawff
Thanks for the suggestion, If Trevor wants to make me an offer it would be nice but I'm sure he's a busy man so I'll leave it up to him if he wants to make me an offer.

You did say only real interested buyers respond so maybe no one is interested in this poor economy we have now.

Maybe if you offered some idea what price you are hoping for.

You find nutballs on eBay asking ungodly sums for stuff that is not even hard to get so no way for anyone to know if your price range is $x.xx to $x.xx and don't want to insult you.

Hi Amigasociety,
Like was commented in the gallery where the picture of the machine is hosted, I do not want to post a full snapshot of the signature and post to the web as that would make it easy for some to counterfeit. I am willing to have it authenticated by a trusted third party because I know it to be real and if a trusted buyer were to ask for a snapshot I would have no trouble providing one.

as for it's value or what I want for it I have no idea until I get offers. I will know when I get an offer I can't refuse.
;)

sorry Amigasociety, I could have sworn I read that you wanted a picture. my mistake

Just follow the wise words of your signature Tony and send Trevor a polite email- it doesn't hurt to ask.

That is a really nice machine, but if I bought the A1000 it would just be sat at home & would only be a benefit to me and not the Amiga community.

Have you tried contacting the users that posted on your picture as they looked kind of interested.

PS Good luck with the Sale.

I can assure you, I am a very serious amiga collector. In fact, I was just featured on this show:

http://tlc.howstuffworks.com/tv/hoarding-buried-alive

I'll trade you one Dr. Ryan Czerwinski autographed Merlancia music CD and one "delorean" style stainless steel Merlancia business card. It is very unique as a set and one the few in existence in such nice condition. In case you don't know, Merlancia was going to make the next generation of the Amiga after Commodore's unfortunate demise(see Deathbed Vigil). The company featured such prominent hardware engineers such as "hazy" Dave Haynie, and such forward thinking versionaries as Czerwinski himself, in fact Czerwinski been credited as the "John Delorean" of the Amiga world.

Thanks, and that's what it's doing here, only being a benefit to me and not the Amiga community.

No I haven't done so, other than this thread here. Some of those users might have moved on, there's some there that I have not seen around for a long time, maybe some of them are still lurking though, kind of like me. LOL!

Cool, so I take it that you are nearly buried alive in Amiga stuff like I am? LoL!

As for your offer on the trade I must respectfully decline your offer. Definitely unique Amiga collectables though, kind of like my Bill McEwen autographed Amiga Anywhere SDK CD. LOL!

Thanks

I can assure you that most Amiga users and a few prominent ones in particular, have many different names for "Dr." Ryan Czerwinski, and all of them would probably be detected by the word filter on this forum, if repeated.

:angryfire:
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)
