New member from Norway
« on: September 27, 2011, 09:13:53 PM »
Hi all.

Just wanted to introduce myself :hammer:

My name is Lars. I played on the A500 as a kid and in the past year or so I just got sick of the games that are coming out nowadays. So I picked up a few A500's and got lots of fun and flashbacks out of them.

I recently invested in a 1200 with 603e+...what a beauty!!
With the service and repair deals we have at work now I really don't get to open and repair much PC's or MAC's anymore, so having these old icons around, really gets my tinkering-needs out
Right now I'm in the process of removing what seems to be thermal compound containing gold and an outer layer of ceramic-based compound from the PPC. Guess this outer layer was ment to keep the other goo from getting to those precious cpu legs, but guess what: that stuff is ALL over, down between and under the legs. I don't ever DARE to hook it up before all is gone....in oh....a few weeks or so :furious: Allso I'm replacing coolers on PPC and the 040@40MHz

Anyhows...there it is, se ya'round.

-Lars
