For the past year or so I have found myself spending more and more of my online time on EAB.  The moderation was turning me off here.  Now there are a couple of members who have gotten thousands of posts in a relatively short amount of time and most of them seem to be just blabber that you have to find your way through to seek the real info you are looking for.  I have stated before that this site is being taken over by "social butterflies" whose Amiga interests are secondary to their social online life.  I really wish they would spend more time on Facebook or Myspace.

Maybe it's not the "new users" who are the problem. Maybe you are out of touch with the modern online world. The world isa changing :)

I can only think of one and he spends more on real Amiga items a month than most of us in a year. Doesn't seem secondary to me.

EAB is always off topic and no more helpful. Although they don't have ex owners urging us ike a loon that shit running emulators must be embraced and is all we deserve  :roflmao:

EAB has less noise, but it has a lot less signal too. you make a query here, and you'll get multipe answers within half an hour. EAB post rate is a lot slower. besides, they are not mutually exclusive. you can be a member of as many amiga sites as you like. if those who have left just waited, things would have calmed down again, this sort of thing has happened multiple times before, and it always gets back to an even keel.

We love you too :)

Seriously though, the site is for amiga users, not their computers per se. Since amiga users are actually people and have interests that go beyond using their computers, it's normal for them to wish to talk about other things.

All discussion here should be communicated via 68K assembler subroutines that generate output on an Amiga. It's the only way to be sure.

Let's face it, this isn't the first time you've hinted you don't like to see non-amiga specific discussion here - which I have to hold my hands up and admit to partaking in so yes, I guess I mean me. And a few others that act likewise.

Anyway, you come across as a rather unhappy person. Why not put your feet up and tell us all about it?

Should the message text be procedurally generated (at least in part) for added brownie points? Or at least stored in some packed format that precludes just reading the dc.b lines ;)

No problem, in 40-50 years there will be no one left here anyways...

Oh, come on. You know they're not going anywhere. Let 'em stomp their feet and whine some more.
