Joking? Would I ever be joking?

I was being sarcastic, not the same.

And those arguments I brought forward was argumentsthat was tossed in my face when I wanted ogg support, months and years ago.

Personally the lack of ogg support basicly has meant that I sadly have stopped using amigas for sound as well, as most of the files I have are oggs. My experience is that ogg gives more value/size, and I use it on all my devices, except the amigas, be it phone, pda, workstation, media centre...  8-)

There is afaik one program that will play ogg on amiga - Frogger.

Why would you want OGG support if you cant use them to any portable mp3 players?

Why is mp3 used?? is it because of the quality? definitely not... And why is even wma used? Cause they are commercial, has nothing to do with quality... Though if more people start using ogg, i bet we will see more support later for ogg...

I encoded songs with same Kb rate, and turns out the OGG format is chunkier then mp3 itself.

So what? Does it matter if ogg are 10kB bigger when 128k ogg sounds as good as 192k mp3? ogg would still be way more smaller..

Zacman, I'm sure the 2001 unstable and unusable beta isn't what people mean when they ask 'when will people get MOS for BPPC'.

Telling someone to boot up into an alternative operating system that can't work more than two hours (and will probably only last for 20 minutes before crashing) every time they want to play an ogg is not really a plausible suggestion now, is it?

Reminds me of 'Buy a router.' :)

Yes, you are right, only Frogger can play ogg audio on amigaos with warpos. but it still hangs if you want to do anything paralelly. for example when moving a window or if you open an ibrowse, etc.. and it crashes very often.. :/

Frogger is actually a movie, not an audio player..

why cant somebody make a plugin for AmigaAmp? or add ogg support to songplayer? is it so useless? :( or takes too much time?

Anyway, we have FLAC encoder/decoder too. But are there any players for AmigaOS, that support FLAC playback?
