I think the keyword is "BRANDED" as in slapping the Amiga logo on anything.

Really. The more I think about this the more nightmarish it becomes. I thought the "Walker" was a low point in AMIGA history, but this could be a reason to walk away in shame and never mention the Amiga-brand again.

Have to agree with this 100%. I have been watching the Amiga community for the past 10 years from a distance and really was quite impressed by the relative advancements that were made. With this kind of thing going on, we actually should be really glad that the various NG products don't carry the Amiga nameplate. Slapping a Boingball on a Chinese TV, how much worse can it get?

I got one!  How about slapping a boing ball on a generic laptop Intel/Nvidia board?

No, no, no! You can't go inferring that they're going to use generic Intel hardware just because their existing products use generic Intel hardware and they've indicated that they're going to continue using generic Intel hardware for the near future! What, do you think you've got pattern recognition or something? You have to wait for the specs to be released!
Computers: Amiga 1200, DEC VAXStation 4000/60, DEC MicroPDP-11/73
Synthesizers: Roland JX-10/MT-32/D-10, Oberheim Matrix-6, Yamaha DX7/FB-01, Korg MS-20 Mini, Ensoniq Mirage/SQ-80, Sequential Circuits Prophet-600, Hohner String Performer

So.. are these IContain Protected Amiga products going to contain the AAA chipset?

Awesome, I've been looking forward to that for ages.

When you miss a payment, and your Amiga gets clamped, do Amiga-branded debt-collectors come to your door to collect the monies owed?
Everything was better on the Commodore Amiga...

This is just disgusting.  I hope these pricks go out of business quickly.

I really wish some incredibly wealthy troll would put it out there that he's very interested in purchasing and consolidating all of the Amiga IP in order to relaunch the brand.
The legal battle that would ensue as the various IP holders fight one another over ownership of this suddenly hot commodity would eventually ruin the all, and the Amiga name and IP could lapse into the public domain where it belongs.

This is my exact plan if I ever win the lottery. Well, that or just buy it outright and hold onto it so nobody can abuse it, then let it lapse into PD upon my death.

Don't knock Vietnam, we've been taking a holiday there every year for 5 years.  It's a great country that has a sad past.  Walking on the beach by all the tourist hotels on Sunrise Beach (used to be known as China Beach) at sunrise is a beautiful experience.

They apparently had a war there that devastated the country and only ended 35 years ago.  It's remarkable what they've done in 3 and a half decades.  Probably one of my favourite places in SE Asia.

A buddy of mine works there as an english teacher. Loves the heck out of it too.

He mentioned that the pay isn't great if you are looking to bring money home, but for spending locally, he lives really well.

Anyway, Vietnam is a magical place.  You have to realise that Adults 35 and younger were born after the war and that you have to be almost 40 to actually remember it at all, which means that 2/3s of the population doesn't remember it.  I think they've done well to preserve it as sort of a patriotic moment but not dwell on it.

Sunrise Beach as a tourist destination full of hotels is a far better legacy than it's old name of China Beach and it connotations of destruction.  The ability to move on is a wonderful thing.  It's a bit like (South) Korea.  Remember the past but don't dwell on it.  Live in the present.

The food is great, the people friendly, the beaches good.  I remember wandering the streets of the tourist capital Da Nang late into the night and never having any fear of crime.  Vietnam is a country that has a bright future.

Don't take this the wrong way Persia I'm not having a go at you, it's more a sad disbelief of how bad the education system and general lack of knowledge in some younger folk seems to be these days... :)

I was only a toddler when the Vietnam war was taking place and we were never taught about it in school, for me it is like most things in life you learn about them as you grow up, whether it be from TV, books, newspapers or just talking with folk in general... :)

But to say because folk are under a certain age is an excuse for not knowing about such important things that are part of history and have indeed played a major part in shaping today world is just wrong... :(

I wasn't born (believe it or not) when World War 1 or 2 took place, nor when convicts and children were shipped off to Australia just because they were orphans and considered undesirables by society, nor was I around when dinosaurs roamed the earth... :)

Point is, using age as an excuse for a lack of general knowledge about life and the history of this world is a sad reflection on society today (young and old)... :(

Looking to the future without a knowledge of the past is one sure way of guaranteeing history repeating itself again and then the future doesn't look so bright... ;)

Anyway, lessons are over for today and sorry for sounding like a miserable old fart, guess it must be my age or something... :)
