This setup interests me.  Any pics to share would be so cool.  Also so does this mean you don't have a traditional HD in your machine?

Thanks
Rich

I am using 2-kingston 32GB pro versions in my A4000 for about 3 years now and they work fine,i also have 2 of the regular kingston 4gb ,and those give me trouble. Transcend 2GB 80x cards work ok.sandisk work(beware of china fakes, theres tons on ebay that are fake!)

Honestly it would be image/video files from Amiga to Mac and visa versa..
I don't own a windows machine.

I have an Imac and an A1200, tbh I do most of my transferring from a bootcamp partition and winuae.

What setup do you have on both sides (amiga/mac)  I can maybe give some pointers :)

Sandisk, Sandisk and Sandisk.

Beware of the chinese crap CF cards with false brands on ebay.

I have to agree, sandisk cards are the only ones I have had no problems with.

Need tips on setting up CF cards as drives in some of my Amigas.. Which cards work, formatting etc.  Is there a How To??.. Pic would be cool too.  Can these be used to transfer jpegs, or other files between Macs or PCs?

Thanks in advance.

You don't mention what AmigaOS version you are using, but if you want to set up a CF card as boot device on your Amiga and you use a OS lower than 3.5/3.9, you may need to patch HDToolbox first. you can find the patch here: http://aminet.net/package/disk/misc/HDToolBoxPatch

As for using a CF card for transferring files to/from Amiga/Mac/PC, it would possibly be best to keep the FAT filesystem like it is on the card. You must then create a mountfile that must be run after you have connected the cf card to the IDE-CF adapter and turned on your Amiga.

On the MAC/PC side you can use a USB cardreader of some sort.

BTW. As you probably understand now, the brand of cf card to use is important, but this mostly applies to using the card as a Amiga system device (by first installing it and then formatting it with FFS or SFS filesystems). For using the card as simply a device for transfering files to/from Amiga/PC/Mac only, this is less important.
