There's a PDF of the manual on the katodev website, but I'll be happy to check the cable orientation and report back later. I also recall having a more recent revision of the software than what's on amiga.resource, will take a look. The diagnostic light should go out as soon as MelodyControl inits the board.

it would be great if you checked the the cabel... i have tryed a few changes with the cabel but the diagnostic light is always on...  when i installed that software from amiga.resource it didnt install the ahi-drivers for some unknown reason(do i need this at all)... if you could upload the newer software to -> http://www.sendspace.com/ so i could install it it would be great...

what music player do you use with melody1200... do hippoplayer work?

OK - on the digital (clockport) part, pin one points toward the ROMs (front of the computer), there's a red dot there on my card. On the analog part, pin 1 faces the same direction - toward the trapdoor.

I'll check my software, if it's newer than what amiga.resource has I'll send it your way.

I mainly use the card for streaming MP3 netradio with AMPlifier. It's one of the best and most reliable pieces of Amiga hardware I've owned.

--edit-- What I have and what's on AHD are thew same, the latest as far as I could find.

i installed the card into another a1200 with aos3.9... the drivers was installed including the ahi drivers that didt install on the barebone aos3.1. the diagnostic light  is on, it dont go away..  the red stripe on the cabel in on the side where the red spot is on both cards.. if i connect the plug the other way on the clock port the a1200 will not boot... so there is only one way to plug it... maybe i am doing something wrong but i dunno what... or my card dont working anymore???..

Might want to see if SnoopDos provides any clues. I'll try it later on my 3.1 install and see what happens.

Here on 3.1:

melodyresource.library in LIBS:

melodyaudio.device in DEVS:

The card inits fine when starting MelodyControl (default tooltypes).

Maybe (hopefully) your files are corrupted?

all files are in the rigth place... and i even tested the card and did the install on another machine.. same error message and the diagnostic light stays on never goes out... do you have the newer drivers, send me a download link to it. i will give it a last try and see if that will work, if same problem i fear there is one melodycard less in the world, sadly...
