I've not tried the palette patches yet - but the screen corruption is currently really bad.  I'll try them anyway but I don't expect them to help much :(

I've taken the machine apart and removed the metal shielding to help airflow.   I've also taken a look at the capacitors and noticed they all seem to be tantalum (?) except 3 which are standard electrolytic.  Could it really be these 3 capacitors at fault?  One (or two) are on the PSU side - so I guess it's a possibly.  Surprised to see all the others as tantalums though - this hasn't been modified in the past;  I expect many more.

l say its not the 500 psu as your said it did the same with ibm pc psu
l powered my 1200 for short while with 500 psu they much better than standred 1200 brick
l had blizzard ppc bvision 040 68k 240 mhz 63 ppc with graphics card and 3 1/2 hd
even had scsi pcmcia card running too. realistically can u afford to get another second hand
1200 mb as when first got my blizzard card whould not work with my ppc card at all
l thought got dud board then got another 1200 mb and was all good .
u chould take of the 030 card see what happens but doesint mean its the 030 board
try it with diffrent ram on the 030 board also maybe slower not 60 ns maybe 70 ns ram
are there settings u can change with your 030 card ram speed etc

I was wondering about the way you placed your harddrive. Without the HD bracket, leaving the hd over the lisa chip would cause overheating and possibly that kind of crashes.

I'll try a few things - but I may well end up having to find another A1200 motherboard.

I don't think this is accelerator related as surely graphics corruption is more of a chipmem/chipset issue?  I'll try removing the accelerator though and see how it runs without it.

Xanxi: The HD is mounted on a bracket.  I'll fit some fans in the case, although I suspect this will just hide the issue (by cooling) rather than fix the actual problem :)

There should be no need for fans, the problem is the capacitors, plain and simple. Well, probably... :-)
