Value of this Amiga 3000
« on: September 08, 2010, 01:37:28 AM »
So I scored an Amiga 3000 for $100 in excellent condition. It comes with a Village Tronic Picasso II 2MB (I think) card and Commodore 2058 RAM expansion. The A3000 has 2 HDDs (not sure the size yet) and is fully functional with no yellowing and generally very good condition. Works fine too and has a total of 48MBs of RAM (16MB on-board and 32MB on the expansion card). Came with all the docs for everything too, including the Picasso box! Any ideas as to whether I got a good deal or not?

Yes, in this market that is quite a good deal.  I think you could easily have paid two or three times that and still been ok in price.

I'm fairly sure that you got ripped off! Let me know where to send the $100 so that I can take that off your hands and save you from the anguish that you'll be suffering every time you boot it up.

P.S. Just kidding (except for the taking it off your hands part) You gotta a real nice score there.

Toronto, found via kijiji. An older fella was getting rid of all his old Amiga stuff, he had a ton. Like 4 or 5 A2000s with all sorts of upgrades, one with 040 in it another with 030, all sorts of other stuff, a basement-full of treasures! He seemed more interested in getting rid of the stuff than actually making money on it, real nice guy too.

Aren't people crazy... sellingpostagephobiamaniacs!

It reminds me of a time I brought a collection off some guy and then he remembered he had an A3000T in the wardrobe that didn't work and asked me if I wanted it in its condition for $100.00 I said sure...

Got it home and spent a little time on it and decided it needed a new rom set... brought that in some auction and bingo away it went... it had a 040 warpdrive in it too... bloody quick at loading up too!

Turned it off and stored it, havent used it since LOL

so I can relate to your score ;-)
