Look: PCMCIA-IDE adapter
« on: August 21, 2010, 02:42:51 PM »
Hi.

I have managed to get one of these:

For now i do not dare to plug anything as i am unsure what should be the first pin on the IDE cable (not marked on this board).

Anyone knows something about this?

I don't know anything about that specifically, but it's possible that it could work with compactflash.device - the CF interface is just a cut-down IDE.

Make sure it's 16-bit.

Yes, it is 16 bits.
Well, i finally had a try.
Hooked to a 40 GB FAT 32 device, the board works perfect on windows 7 with my old laptop, but not with my OS 3.1 A1200, though compactflash.Device is installed.
Prepcard see the board but report some errors.
Maybe lack of power from the miggy.

This board seems also to be the same that PCMCIA controllers from ZIP drives.
