What? Let your wife or girlfriend tell you not to buy toys? Haven't you guys ever heard of the hush account? Works with paypal too.

ALSO
Learn to say "I got that in trade for parts"  Once I told my girlfriend I traded some flux capacitors for an amiga 500. She didn't even blink.
She knows I have piles of electronic parts in boxes, and she dosn't know
a memory chip from a flux capacitor. I win. Just make sure if you say that
she dosn't watch back to the future anytime soon. Some day, I have a feeling with her elephant memory, I may have to explain myself.

:)

Absolutely true. By late 30's, most people (especially women) have soooooo much baggage, almost makes you wanna skip the whole dating scene entirely and live happily & blissfully alone, dating on the rare occasion when you want some unnecessary drama in your life. If I wasn't with the gal I'm with now, that's the road I'd certainly be taking. Especially living where I do here in WI (yuck). Flipside to that common scenario... there are still a handful of decent women out there that are getting up in years. Women that never took crap from loser guys in the first place and have their heads on straight. Can't say I know any though. I'm just giving the benefit of the doubt, being the idealist I am.

Or, if you pick the right girl like I did, you don't have those issues at all!

LOL, in fairness she's not really like that. I reckon I'm just trying to justify spending all my money on stuff I want rather than saving it for the future :)

She's quite happy with my set of 4 computer towers under the desk (along with 2 laptops and another couple of A1200s under the bed), and was totally understanding when I said I might spend €2000 on another one this year... Anyway, I let her have her two wardrobes full of ball gowns, suits and shoes, so she can't complain! :p
