Maximum supported memory for expanded Apollo 68040
« on: June 17, 2010, 12:04:51 AM »
Hi All

Can anyone tell me the maximum amount of EDO ram an Apollo 68040 accelerator card with a 33 mHz crystal will support, please? My card has the extra memory expansion slot on the underside; I use it with two 16 mb sticks in a tower. I seem to recall 64 mb being the maximum; I'd be pleasantly surprised to find otherwise. Obviously, ECC ram won't work (or will it?) and it has to be the 144 pin 60ns fast page ram or am I talking rubbish?

Many thanks

Cannunn

Hi.

Meega, it looks the same as the board on the second row of images you posted to me. The crystal(?) states EQX0-1050UC 64.000MHz EQZ though. On the underside it states paragon 3006014255 on a small bar code label. I'd always assumed it was an Apollo 1240 with expanded memory, but I could be wrong. The jumper is definately set to 040 where it states clk. Sorry, I should have stated the model in my initial post.

Regards
