Saved A1200
« on: May 03, 2010, 01:19:21 PM »
Oh man, I am happy here. So just the other day someone was offing an A1200 for FREE,  on a local for sale group. I though I had missed out on the deal as it had been posted for about 2 hours, but as it was still up I gave the guy a call.

He told me he still had it and if I was able to come get it now it was mine. so I zipped on over and got it.

here is what I got;

A1200 1D rev.  - almost no yellowing
has a hard drive installed.
also came with a DKB corbra 030 - 40MHz w/ 16MB RAM - WOOHOO
Amiga monitor
ext floppy drive.
2 power supply
mouse

As you can see a good haul. I been working with it. and have some work to do.
both floppy drives are dead. - sad times
both power supply are crappy.
the light panel needs to be re-sorder

The system does boot to hard drive, and does run with the 030 with ram. so I know the base system is good. I will try and get some pics up later.

It's been a long long time since I have been as lucky as you. Except I had to pay for it... £50 for a A1500, and it had a CSA 030 card in it.

Trouble is now, over here in the UK the local tips now have trolls that harvest all the good stuff and try and sell it back to us, stuff that stays in the skip we ar'nt allowed to have due to 'elf 'n' safety'. Sad times over here

It's the same here in Netherlands, 10 years ago I could have picked up all Amiga's that I wanted for the best bang per buck, as in almost nothing.

Nowadays people ask like 125 euro's for an A2000 :(
It's almost as if there is nothing left anymore.
Sometimes I get a decent bargain, I once pulled it off to buy a A1200 with a Blizzard 1230 IV and 16MB for 75 euro's.

I might pull a stunt in a few days, but I'll let you know if all goes trough untill I have actually got it.
