ha ha ha ha ha ha ha had this conversation on Buneos Aires...
Well with the crisis that hit there (for folks that don't know about hte subject google Argentine economic collapse) the person I spoke to said that such adoration of antiquated hardware and toys was a waste of time and money when there are much more important things.
I explaind that some folks get drunk or do drugs and other folks collect old hardware or toys. If it makes them happy cool.
In my case Ive since sold off much of those things and just keep 1 plus main system a spare amiga. I no longer use Amigas in my work so I'm relegated to tinkering and games. I just boxed my A1200 tho.
So what's in your collection?
Your website link doesnt work.
Well, that explanation makes a lot of sense, specially if you spoke with somebody FROM Buenos Aires...
Usually they have a vision that is completely different that us, people who come from small cities and go to Buenos Aires to study/live.
Crisis? One crisis? :roflmao: We LIVE in permanent crisis!!! we are a country which cant live without some kind of crisis (not just economical, but political, social, you name it, we have it here)
I begun collecting mainly games when i was a teenager, had no $$$ to afford a machine other than a plain A500.
I know my website doesnt work...its always in a "coming soon" state, since i have no $$$ to pay what i owe to the web designer

...but eventually, it will be up soon...
I also had a blog, but i get tired of...and didnt have enough time to actually update it...so there it is...hidden somewhere

I guess that if i had a chance of talking to that persons, we would end up fighting.... damn i already had a huge fight, and one of the main reasons we broke up, with my ex fiancee was, precisaly, my Amiga collection. She couldnt understand that i would spend "so much time with that stupid machines" rather than share more time with her...oh well..woman...
Anyway, back on topic...my collection??
Well...here it goes:
7 x A500
1 x A500+
4 x A1200
2 x A4000
1 x A3000
1 x A2000
1 x A1000
2 x CD32
1 x CDTV
Add to that: about 7.000 floppy disks waiting to be ADFed , around 100 Amiga related CDs, Amiga Format, Amiga Computing, Amiga User International, Amiga World, Amazing Amiga, and CU Amiga complete collections, many more Amiga mags (like Amiga Shopper and The One but not completed) about a dozen of accelerators / memory upgrades/ graphic cards, Catweasel, joysticks, GVP stuff...and many, many more...Vlab Motion, Toccata, Cyberstorm, Cyberstorm PPC, Cybervision, Blizzard 1230, 1240 1260, 2060, PPC, Picasso IV, Picasso II, Cybervision 3D, , Mediator, Elbox Power Tower..., pufff, i lost my memory, but i do have more than this...believe me...and i actually only use 10% of that due to lack of time..have all this stuff in a room which was "ready for the soon to come baby"
Sigh...wish i had the time to play around much more with all my precious stuff, that i got it with a lot of effort (remember, we have a very weak currency, so everything i buy...its very very expensive...)
So you can imagine, all stuff in drawers, boxes...all around the room...togheter with all my Commodore stuff and my small 8 bit/16 bit machines collection....
I begun around 1989/1990 buying all stuff from Amiga shops that were closing first, then , to all my friends who went PC/Mac, then eBay, then Amibay...and here i am...
Yep, try not to make me talk with your friend in Buenos Aires!!!!!! :roflmao:

Sebastian
