SOLD- Cyberstorm PPC 68060/PPC & Cybervision PPC
« on: March 20, 2010, 09:55:44 PM »
****** This has sold.  Thanks for looking.  *********

Cyberstorm PPC 68060/50MHz PPC/200MHz Accelerator Board for Amiga 3000(T)-Amiga 4000(T). Includes original box, manual, registration card, 68060/PPC Card, & 4 Floppy Disks. Just like when buying it new. Recent purchase for me and installed it in my A4000T to give a quick confirm the card works. Appears to work nicely. See below link to a short video I made and posted on Youtube that shows it made my A4000T show 82MB memory from my base 18MB. Very cool.

After careful consideration, I think my $ will be better spend getting my A4000T setup in a more basic setup versus maxing everything out and not using it to the fullest. I have so many hobbies right now I figured the stock 68040 will do me fine for my Amiga so I have decided to sell the PPC related items.

I also had purchased the Cybervision PPC Video Card for it also but unable to confirm 100% it works as I thought my generic lcd monitor had a VGA port but alas it does not. The Cybervision was purchased from a fellow Amigaworld member that has been into Amigas a long time and I was told this is a fully operation card so I have no reason to disbelieve that. I just can't test it as I have no vga monitor. You will see the Cybervision also comes in the original box and includes the card, manual, CD ROM, floppy, cable that connects card to port, & the port you mount at rear of computer. Just like when it was purchased new.

I prefer to sell this as a set but if someone wants to buy just the Cybervision itself and I have not sold the Cyberstorm yet, then I would be happy to do that. Just will not sell the Cyberstorm 1st and be sitting on the Cybervision.

Cyberstorm will be $1050 and the Cybervision $375. Together I will discount to $1399 + postage. Firm on prices. Items are sold as-is since this is old electronic goods but the video I just did speaks for itself.

Thanks

Tom

**I may consider partial trades plus $ if you have a stock Amiga 68060 CPU Card or Picasso IV Video Card as I will continue using my A4000T but just don't plan on playing with PPC stuff or the OS 4 so will consider partial trades if you have either of these items.

Here are pictures.

Insane!

I started writing a long post and thought better of it....that covers it nicely.

But......the plot thickens..............

Remember this on buying the Cyberstorm from just around here........

I'd love to know what Tone007 sold it for.....we can see the markup here....and whether it was never knowingly undersold

Sorry dude, there wasn't much room for a markup. Sounds like TJ is just trying to pass it on.

I think atm, those dollar prices are somewhat scary and there's me...only 6 years ago, sold a CS and CV for less than half that. We are nearly into classic car territory at these prices

CS 68060/233 8th Mar Sold For: EUR 650.00 Approximately £585.59 Approximately $898...says it all really and that was quite a lot

I suppose I'd rather spend $1000 on a rusty old Datsun, but then you have to deal with the oil leak in the driveway.

Either way, I think if it were posted on eBay at that price, it'd go in no time and without a peanut gallery to comment on it.

Ouch! Does anyone know if the circuit schematics for these are available? If people are willing to pay this much for them, then there is a possibility of making even a small run profitable.

A few months ago, that guy at computer connection sold off two of these NOS cyberstorm PPC boards for about four or five hundred dollars.  By the time I called him, they were both spoken for, but I wonder who picked them up?

Schematics and diagrams for all Phase 5 products, including the Cyberstorm PPC and the Cybervision PPC are property of DCE (http://www.dce.de).
This questions was asked several times to them, and the answer was that some key components to build those boards were no longer available, and that they wanted someone to pull out all the cash for the production batch before manufacturing them, and that will require a minimum of 40 units by product.
So, it is not viable.

Well into classic car turf. A perfect Volvo 240 is what? £700? Mini metro, £500? Rediculous.
A1200 Computer Combat. OS3.0. No accelerator, no fastram, mouse soon. And ebaying it.
