I just recently got a Toshiba satellite A500 it's great except the screen is not 2ms like my 22inch Asus. I get nauseus using the laptop screen after a little while. The big co's always cut corners whereever they can. Buying a 2ms flat panel only increases the price by about $30-$50 talk about being cheap asses. There is no chance you would ever get (or got) a good soundblaster in a name brand system. Alienware are the only ones I know of that do proper gaming rigs.
Yes, but the sound on my 'voodoo was just fantastic compared to the sound on a "regular" laptop (I had both an HP and a Toshiba Q to compare- the Voodoo has 5.1). After working for Dell, I wouldn't even think about buying one of their products, and I have serviced ALienware Desktops from before and after Dell Acquired them. Hands down, the quality of the components was far superior from before the Dell takeover.
I know I can go out and build this laptop myself, after all its just a Clevo "re branded" but to hunt down all the parts is a fantastic PITA, and FalconNW has nothing but glowing reviews on Customer Satisfaction (so did Voodoo before HP) and I would rather support a small shop with less then 20 Employees then Dell any day.
The whole reason I went with Voodoo in the first place, was because for the "small" shop, and it was located in Calgary, Alberta. Less the a 3 hr drive from here. I got to know everyone who worked there. I knew every step of the way, the progress of my rig, right down to the fact that not only could I talk with "MY" salesperson, I could talk with the person building my rig, the person who painted my rig, the graphic designer who designed my custom lid and Rahul, the owner/ president of the company. Heck, they even had a "Voodoopalooza", a weekend where Voodoo owners came from all over the world for a weekend of BBQ's, Warcraft, Gaming (mostly Rock Band)
