WHDload problem !

Trying to play some AGA games on my Amiga with WHDload (registred)

A1200D
Blizzard 1230 IV 16 MB Ram
All other is standard

Problem is that when i am trying to start some games Not all AGA games but some is is complaining that i need the 1200 ROM 40.68 (kickstart 3.1 right ?) in :/dev/kickstarts/ but shuld that realy be nececery ? did try it once tho with no luck havent bother to look in to it again since new yer Chrismas came upp ,, anny idea whats cusing the problem ?

Even if your machine has the same exact ROM version, you need to have the rom file in Devs:Kickstarts if WHDLoad requires it. Either use a utility such as Grabkick if your machine has the correct version ROM that you need or buy or obtain the file some other way (ehm...).

So if i just use the Grabkick and rename it and place it in Devs:Kickstarts then it shuld be fine !

BTW is it leagal to grab ur own Kickstart and use it as a Backup or in this case WHDload ?

Have you read the documentation of WHDLoad?

Yes but i thugt that if u had the proper kickstart in ur machine it shuldent be needed ! in this case 3.1 !

It is needed because WHDLoad is locking the system and performs (emulates) all the actions which the game wants. When WHDLoad is loaded your system does nothing and for WHDLoad it basically does not exist.

You also need some files from the skick archive on Aminet IIRC.
