Free AMiGiFT Keyfile - Merry XMas!
« on: December 20, 2009, 07:40:20 PM »
AMiGiFT is a multi-protocol p2p filesharing application with build-in DOpus4-style filemanager, chat client, and tons of internal features - it has been compiled for AmigaOS 3.x but should work without problem in other compatible systems such as OS4 or MorphOS.

We the AMiGiFT Team want to wish all you a Merry XMas and a very HNY 2010 with this little gift...

http://amigift.sourceforge.net/amigiftkey.php

From the above URL you'll be able to download the free keyfile, but note that's not a normal keyfile, it's what we call a DEMO-Key.

For those of you who didn't registered AMiGiFT yet, now you have a unique opportunity to be able to check for yourself all of the internal features only available to registered users.

Therefore, DEMO-Keys are intended as a mean of try-before-buy, its running time is limited to 30 minutes (per run), and will expire in time as well.

We hope you like it, and it motivates you to register to support further developments... Thank You.

Sincerely,
Diego Casorran

Hmmm isn't there a bit of hypocrisy in charging for a software that you are clearly advertising (Screenshot) for the downloading of copyrighted material which I have no doubt you hope to profit from. I know its p2p and all that and content my arse isn't your issue but to then set as a demo and ask for dosh you are taking the piss aren't u.

Edit: I have noticed its donation ware but its still stands as hypocrisy....sorry

P2P file sharing has legitimate uses.
Nobody works for free.

That is all.

Obviously you don't know what you're saying. Everybody can use AMiGiFT *for free* and even you have access to the source code.

I've released more than 400 software packages, and this is the first time i'm charging/requesting money for a program on which i've spent *six years* of my life developing, therefore you have no right at all on telling me that, whoever you are.

I'm sure copyright holders will disagree.

Yes, but my PC idles at 300w and peaks at 900w.

I know what platform I'd rather leave on all night whilst downloading.

Never was and (probably) never will be.

Maybe you should resort to Linux images or similar.

I don't know which pc your using but you need a new one, mine idles at less than about 100 and peaks about 200 with quite a few disks attached.

Ok, the image depicted questionable use, but P2P itself is perfectly legal. There's no need to derail the thread with the whole illegal file-sharing debate.
