Yep, there was news that GVP was doing a few runs of new hardware again recently. IIRC the prices weren't even all that high.

Price was great. I got a 4060DT card for the 4000D from Software Hut. Even though the first card had issues I got a replacement and still works great.

Also, I see amigakit has the E-Matrix 1230/40 in stock.

Browsing the internet I found http://www.gvp-m.com/

It looks to me like they are still or again producing various accelerators for the Amiga. At $495 for the Amiga 4000 / 68060 / 64MB board this is not even a bad price, given that I've seen Cyberstorm MK2's go for €300+ on Ebay...

Is it a hoax, extremely outdated site? Or should everybody looking for an upgrade consider buying it from GVP?

I ordered and received a A4000DT-060 Accelerator with 128Mb through Software Hut 3 months ago and it works fine. It is a Revision 2 board.

Well, I  emailed both Softhut and GVP-M on sales email addresses listed on their sites and did not receive a response from either one. Nice way to run a business!

It seems more like a labour of love than a business.

Ok ok, point taken :)

Given that doing stuff with or for the Amiga is almost on par with charity now I  did at least expect a response on my emails, been more than two weeks. And to my self-defence : both sites have the look and feel of a real business. They don't state or point to the fact that they are a spare-time-good-idea type of thing.

Given the prices that accelerators go for, especially the PPC ones, I think here very much is a business case for a limited run of units...

Joe at Softhut is usually pretty responsive.  I don't think softhut is his primary business any longer but you can still get some neat stuff that he has in stock.  Definitely call or email before you purchase something on the site.  He usually gets back to you within a few days.

Hi:

I recently ( a few months ago) Ordered from Soft Hut a gvp 16 mb ram simm. I received the SIMM really fast and in working condition. Thanks to this purchase, I was able to upgrade my GVP jaws 030 accelerator, to the max of full 32 mb ram.
As I said...soft hut was really pronto to send, and good quality merchandise.
I ordered before from soft hut a few times...and they never let me down.
