Well, scsi.device doesn't show up at all, so I can't proceed with defining anything new, I can only quit. Unless you mean I need to insert the 3.1 Install disk and "install" it that way. But I already have a known good, formatted CF card with OS3.1 already on it. Shouldn't the card just "work" upon insertion of the device? What would the Install program place on the CF card that isn't already there in order for it to be recognized by this home made device? And if that's the case, seems to me the thing would never autoboot if it needs something extra to get it going. When you first turn on the computer, you can tell the device isn't even bothering to search for a boot record as the Kickstart screen immediately pops up.
And yes Jeff - I supplied power to the end of the ribbon cable AND also had a CF card inserted at the end of the unit - but not at the same time of course. Using the SCSI search tool from ASIMCDFS, it seems as if nothing is there. The scsi.device part of this board appears dead.
