Tried it but it does not work in 3.9 (Amiga 4000)

A black window opens and closes and that is all.

Guess that SDL is missing.

I downloaded and copy the SDL.librayr into libs only to get the same results.

Guess that I should do some compiling @ SDL?

Is there an installer for SDL? And a link to the last OS 3.9 version?

Thanks.

Since SDL of version 1.2.13 for m68k you don't need SDL.library.
Do you have GFX?
Please always read requirements in readme.

Well, I got it to work on 68k (using 3.9 on WinUAE)
Finally!  I accidentally copied "usergroup.library" into LIBS: even though I knew (and read 20 times) that it was suppose to go in AmiTCP:libs.

It's very fast (Amiga OS is set to 1GB ram ;-) )

Works fine in both 16 and 32 bit.  Only real problem I have is entering text into a field.  (Like here on Amiga.org)  I can't see the text in real time.  I can type a word then scroll the text field off the screen and then when it comes back the the text I typed is there.  Really really hard to type like that!  But it's so fast and nice to be able to access CSS sites so far.

Keep up the great work!

Got a PicassoIV Gfx card. I will re check the readme although I think my system has all the required stuff. It is an Amiga 4000 with CyberStorm PPC, Picasso IV Gfx, Paloma TV Card and Deneb USB card, 80Giga Hard Disk and a DVD-RW Drive.

It now works. I should have gone to 16bit mode.

Great work for 3.9 but still a little bit slow. OS4 version is faster.

Would be great if 3.9 version could become a little faster.

Thanks for the software anyways!!!!! Keep up the good work!

is this a wonder that os4 version is faster? even your 604 ppc has sure few more mhz than your 060 even if this was not the only thing that counts? mg, it becomes really boring to preach to all the complainers to switch from 24 to 16bit again and again. artur, will you release the new version already, so that it stops?

That is hopefully fixed in new version which I just uploaded to Aminet.

having set workbench to 16 bit netsurf opens a 32bit fullscreen with a yellowish taint, assume it must be argb, since it is the pixelformat that always gives this effect with sdl based apps on my voodoo, switching between screens gives strange color artefacts sometimes. i would propose to use bgra mode as default if possible. is it possible to set it somewhere? not in options file at least.

edit: have first rendering issues but will report directly to the netsurf dev team. all in all seems workig nice, even scrollbars are mouse draggable now. some solution for fast scrolling would be a major step forward, but probably not within sdl, i wonder how its done on ibrowse?

Anyone get the new version working on their PIV? The previous one worked great in 16-bit... (what I run my WB in anyway).

im afraid it will not work at this time. the new netsurf works only on 32 bit screen depth. if the worbench is set to lower than that netsurf opens its own 32 bit screen. picasso doesnt support depths beyond 24bit afair which would be the reason why netsurf fails to start. using uae is easy to forget about it.

edit:btw, another bug, that has been there all the time i recall. the tcpip stack has to be run before the netsurf. otherwise netsurf will not establish connection,if miami was ran afterwards. can anyone confirm?

@__artur
 Beautiful! At last, i can browse UniCoded sites under AmigaOS 3.x! Now, typing non-latin characters is another matter that i have yet to resolve, but i don't think it's a problem of NetSurf since i can't do it in OWB either.

 Adding copy/paste support in the next version would be nice. Also, text cursors are invisible. I don't know if this supposes to happen.

@wawrzon
I confirm the yellowish tint issue.

Edit: Damn.. No-go for me. :( I have tested it twice and it freezed after 1 minute of browsing in both times. Just the app, not the OS. The site i tried to browse is not a factor.

Great work, but I think that I found a bug.

This site eats 256MB of RAM and still don't have enough:

http://www.onet.pl

Maybe this is a generic problem and happens also under AOS 4 version, someone should test. :afro:
