&H? Is that postage and packaging?

P&P is not going to be £10-15. You are looking at more like £5-8 max. for North and South America, £4-5 for Europe and U.K.

Yes, they call it "Shipping and Handling" over here (same thing).  I was just pulling numbers out of the air based on what I get charged when I order stuff from the UK.  Is that £8 insured?

Thanks.

I am not trying to get rich Darrin, I am trying to get my development costs back, if people don't understand this then what can I do?

I know you're not trying to rip people.  You've made a professional case in limited quantities so the price is going to be high.

I have had people telling me that they were prepared to pay £160 (200 Euros) for it and people saying no more than £40 (50 Euros). You can't please everyone.

Very true.  How many have said "I'll buy one if you cange the colour to ".   ;-)

The problem is that a minimig and case is getting well on the way to the price of an EEE PC which has its own built-in screen and can run UAE (although I'm not sure how much stuff can run full speed on one).

For someone like me who still loves the Amiga but I am happy with PCs too - its never going to sell to me.  It would need to be a minimig including case for that price, to be appealing to me which sadly would mean selling at a loss at the small quantities being made.  :cry:

I actually have a PSU, but it had an EU plug so I need a shaver adapter. Once I get myself one, I promise rapid ports of the Spectrum, C64 and Amstrad CPC464 cores (and corresponding PIC) to MiniMig.

I'll whisper sweet nothings to Tobiflex tomorrow to get the required files (He did the Amstrad and parts of the C64).

That is an awesome statement and promise, it would make the Minimig a multi platform machine. I have a spare shaver adapter I can send to you.

PM me. :-)

If your estimates of the number of MiniMig boards out in the wild (100-150) are close to accurate, you might have a hard time reaching your minimum order number needed to go into production.  Getting 33% to 50% of the MiniMig owners to purchase your case would be quite a marketing accomplishment.

I was concerned about your project from the beginning when it was evident that the cost of the finished product was going to be over $50

I still hope that as more MiniMig boards are built and ACube sells more completed boards, that you will find enough buyers to recoup your development costs.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

I think that when we have write support and some more bugs ironed out then sales will jump again, however if it doesn't happen soon then it is more likely that a Minimig 2 will come along with a different form factor which won't help The Daddy's case sales.

If you follow Yaqube's chats with Toni Wilen over at EAB you'll realised the guy is quite talented and motivated.

@amigadave

>>If your estimates of the number of MiniMig boards out in the wild (100-150) are close to accurate, you might have a hard time reaching your minimum order number needed to go into production.

I can't say that you are wrong there, if we can't go into production it'd be sad but not the end of the world. I created something, I am proud of it. :-)

>>Getting 33% to 50% of the MiniMig owners to purchase your case would be quite a marketing accomplishment.

We will have to wait and see. I might end up with one VERY expensive enclosure, very limited edition! :-)

>>I was concerned about your project from the beginning when it was evident that the cost of the finished product was going to be over $50

One day when we have 90% compatibility, ADFs writing support and those promised machines implementation (by alexh)we might see more Minimigs sold.

>>I still hope that as more MiniMig boards are built and ACube sells more completed boards, that you will find enough buyers to recoup your development costs.

Thanks Dave,
 :-)

@everyone,

Following the emails I am receiving asking if I am going to apply the adhesive logo/name to every single case by hand the answer is yes, yes I am. I know it's nuts but it saves on costs.

I am going to be absolutely exhausted... :-)
