Real3D available for free!
« on: January 13, 2008, 08:06:58 PM »
We are proud to announce that the full Amiga version of Real3D v3.5 is now available to download for free thanks to permission from Realsoft Graphics. The Real3D is famous ray-tracing and animation program. The software is provided as AmiKit add-on or ADF disks.

On top of that, we offer a great discount if you're interested to buy the modern version of this software for other platforms.

For more information and free download please visit http://amikit.amiga.sk/

This is how it should be done. Track down the owner/author guys and have them officially inform us if it's okay to download (and whatnot) their old stuff.

Wow!  Seeing as rendering programs are so complex, does anyone feel like pdf'ing the manual (it's probably a huge manual, though).

Well, he does have to start worrying about competition now, what with that one guy saying he was gonna start something up.  :-P

Are the ADFs suitable for a stock Amiga, therefore not requiring AmiKit?

Yes, the ADFs are suitable, of course.

Fantastic - this takes me right back to 1994, when I wrote the 3D roundup for CU Amiga comparing lightwave, Imagine and Real3D.

Read3D was completely different to anything I'd ever used, and I spent a great day with Andy from the UK distributor learning how to model and render all over again.

Great, powerful package.  Kudos to all involved in sorting this out!
Celebrating 21... no, make that 27... years of Amiga use

Like I said in my previous post the ADF files are suitable for real Amiga. You can mount them on your A4000 easily and install the software.

You bet your sweet bippy it's huge. I bought a version with printed documentation, it think it was just up to 2.5, and there are two books each about an inch and a half think, and the 3.5 manuals are probably bigger. Probably equals the biggest manual set for any Amiga program, even SAS/C.

For AmigaOne users....this program works splendidly on an Amigaone using Petunia ... and FAST! Be sure to set up your Real3D screen modes though before trying to do anything useful!
