Xenepp, at that price count me in.

Here's another idea...

At the same time as making the connectors mobile (ribbon attached), if you could change the shape of the board (from 120mm square) to say 88mm by 165mm (or a bit longer) then it would have the same sort of area but be able to be squeezed into anywhere a 3.5in HD could go. All those pretty external USB drive cases could be refitted as Minimigs. There is just about enough space to fit two 9-pin joystick ports, a DB15 VGA port, 2 PS2 connectors and a 5v in socket on a re-worked back panel.

Just an idea ;)

Xenepp: I want one, too.  Do you have a (very) rough estimate on the price?

Edit: nevermind, saw your reply now.  Count me in.
Code 6502 asm or... DIE!!

I can't really give a fixed price until I have sent the layout to my guy, but I'd expect a preassembled board to cost about £40 and the kit (PCB + parts to solder yourself) about £20.

Count me in for pre-assembled board! If the deal is a goer, then PM with paypal or such details :-)

The estimate is very rough, once I've got the design over to my guy we'll have a much better idea.

Once I know how the majority it voting regarding design I'll get to work.

Well if U want to know what people think then list some options somewhere (forums?) and ask for people to give straightforward Yes/No answers.

eg

Do you want fixed connectors (yes/no)
Do you want ribbon connectors (yes/no)
Do you want re-sized board (yes/no)
Do you want a blue PCB (yes/no)

just examples.. personally a purple PCB!! hehehe

Good idea, I'll start a new thread I guess so it doesn't bog this one down.

I've got a psp screen from a dead (landed in a glass of milk) psp. I'm sure I can find a suitable keyboard so perhaps I might go for a minimig/screen +KB etc. and put the whole thing into a nice case styled to look like a copy of the Necronomicon. Why? just for fun I guess.
...and WELL DONE DENNIS, you deserve the praise.
Falling into a dark and red rage.

Congratulations.  Creating this is an amazing achievement! :):):)

I do wonder though... maybe GPL wasn't the best way to license it.  If companies were allowed to make profit from it, then they would be mass produced and we could buy them cheaper?  Just a thought.

And what exactly in GPL prohibits making profit?

Well, if you have some extra cash, these two bounties could use some to spur on a developer to free us all from The Name.
