S'long as I get some Psygnosis games, I'm set.

Hell, I bought my first Amiga 500 just for Shadow of the Beast... I would consider buying a Wii for SoTB, Walker, Ballistix, Killing Game Show, etc.

In the event that Sony still own the rights to those (Psygnosis) games, I consider that highly doubtful, I'm afraid.

;-) Heh.  It seems that things are looking up for Amiga, Inc. at last.

:-? I wonder how the games will be marketed?  Sure, they'll be downloaded via the Internet, but will they be presented as old Amiga games, or will Joe Average be allowed to assume that they're just old Nintendo games that he hadn't heard of when they were new?

Hopefully, it'll be the former.  This would help renew intrest in the Amiga platform among the general public again.

;-) At least a bit....

Howzabout the Nintendo Wii running AmigaOS?

Everyone has muttered about how great it'd be to run OS4 (etc.) on the PS3, but the Wii is a PowerPC-based platform...

and specifically, a FULL+ PPC chip as opposed to Xenos or Cell...

The Gamecube's was a full PPC G3 with a faster bus (up to 200MHz), extra cache (and programmable), 37 SIMD (ala Altivec) instructions and 2 32bit interger math processors replacing 1 64 bit one.  "Broadway" is 100% backwards compatible with the "Gekko".

@lou_dias
Couldn't agree more;
http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=24519

This is a win-win opportunity for Nintendo and more so for Amiga Inc.  Linux was ported/converted to the Gamecube by developers who were neither endorsed by Nintendo nor did have any 'official' documentation.  If Amiga Inc. strike a deal to port OS4 officially on the Wii, I'm sure the fabulous Friedens twins will be up to the task.

Finally, Hyperion will be able to sell OS4 and we will able to buy real, quality hardware to run our favourite operating system on and play some innovative games, just like it was with the A500.

Imagine controlling Workbench with a wand waved in the air... scrolling down the DOpus menu like a deranged chimp with a banana...

To hell with Nintendo. They're still claiming at their site that all emulators are illegal.

And now they are providing emulators?!

Sorry, they can't have it both ways, either they are lying hypocrites or are breaking the law. Fsck 'em.
