No, I don't think your a troll. It's just take I didn't want the stage to be set for a troll to jump in and start spiraling it out of control.

Lack of communication form the Morphos developers has been the main problem in the last year. No one with any authority knew what was going on and for the most part people don't know what is happening now. That's one of the reasons someone posted the IRC log, as I understand it.

ralph schmidt own the major/essential parts of morphos (e.g. kernel and low level stuff)

Yes, that is my understanding. According to the IRC log he's off developing that part, the Morphos core, for the embedded market. Ambient is now open source, GPL license. Theres seems to have been a deal struck with MUI, not sure exactly what. According to the IRC log, the MUI developer wanted to release MUI 4.0 for Morphos, Amiga OS 4.0, and Amiga Classics. With Morphos getting a free full license. Which Raplph Schmidt didn't like as he felt it would take away Morphos' unique look. How you do that on a skinable GUI, I don't know. Though I wonder what deal was made with MUI.
Now with MUI and Open Source Ambient, Morphos now has a GUI again. That's about all I've been able to piece together.

As far as I know, Ambient is an MUI app, unlike workbench, and this makes Ambient skinable. Seemed they wanted the unique features of the full MUI to be MorphOS exclusive, to maintain the uniqueness of the OS.
:-o...

Kan Amigan ha återuppstått från de döda?
Is that the heading ?, would it not have been more accurate to say "Could the Amiga have risen from the dead ?" ?

So the old amiga magazine has gone from a small publication to one of the biggest aswell, and yet it has only 1/3 of Computer Swedens circulation, and several other computer magazines have bigger circulation aswell... Wishful thinking in all kinds of ways i say...

Skinning features in MorphOS are limited to windows and screens only (i.e. borders, menus etc.). Buttons and listviews are MUI's and not directly connected to skinning.

But there is an agreement now and things have settled down.

MorphOS is far from DEAD. Development continues daily. Wake up and get a clue

development ON MorphOS may continue..but MorphOS itself is probably what he was referring to.

From what I read (when I'm not watching TV, not coding, after I fix my hair, after I eat, if I'm not sleepin) on morphzone that nothing is going on with it.

And they say ignorance is bliss. Take me, for instance. I think MorphOS was that guy on Tony Hart's art show. I believe he was made of plastecine...

But anyway. This A1 deserves to do well. It's best selling point will be that you can surf the Internet and you aren't all that likely to get a virus. Saves the $90 a year for Norton antiVirus...

Could the Swedish speakers please let us non-Swedish speakers (not to mention no access to magazine) know the basics of the article?
