Cheyenne Technology Corridor - as described in the PR, and its links. Lots of development of this type going on in the Las Vegas region now. I'm not all that interested in gambling towns, but Las Vegas really is beginning to diversify - it's pretty amazing what the desert is becoming!

It's quite a phenomenon, in fact our State is one of
the fastest growing in the nation. The amount of
development even within Nevada's smaller cities
(Reno for instance) is staggering, I've seen entire
neighborhoods built up within a period of a few
years. LOTS of industry in general is moving to
Nevada.

I always liked Las Vegas, though I was never into the gambling and shows. My mom used to live there (actually got Elvis's autograph when she worked as a teller at the Flamingo) and I spent a summer there in my college days. The desert is beautiful; we used to go up into the mountains -- really nice. But that was a while back. I guess North Las Vegas has changed. When I was there, it was on fire fairly often (summer of Watts riots, etc.).

Anyway, this is interesting news; I wouldn't have guessed Las Vegas for Genesi's USA offices but I've got to say it seems more plausible than another contender -- Maine.  ;-)

All the mentioned states had some good incentives and local benefits. But I have to say I was pulling for Las Vegas, after seeing what was happening in the region!

I too enjoyed the surrounding desert and mountains : }

This seems like a good idea. I take it that this centre is to promote genesi and its products in the area. I wonder, will there be an asian equivilent? It seems like that would also be a great place to be because of Asias or more so chinas economy improving and their stance against Microsoft and intel!

You'd have to agree that china/asia has huge advantages for people willing to take on new markets with new technology. Its like the industrial revolution all over again, but high tech and no where more so than china!

Just to ramble on some more......\

When we lived there  Howard Hughes was still alive... And rumor had it that he was shacked up on the top floor of the Desert Inn and did NOT go out in public.  He had a germ phobia..... was afraid to be around people whereby he could contract illness.. He was definitely rich and odd....

Elvis had his best days BEFORE Vegas. For us, we think it will be the opposite : }

Ah yes, Nevada. The best state to incorporate a business due to the relaxed tax laws, the flexible shareholder laws, and the lovely legal hookers. I remember it well.  :-)
