Wouldn´t it be better to wait for an actual screenshot before we begin to discuss the look of OS4?
Of course, but that wouldn't be very characteristic of Amiga users!!!  ;-)

Seeing how there's no "official" screenshots yet, I presume what was shown at the show is still a WIP.

At least they're not using the gaudy colors like in last year's preliminary screenshots!

So, what was the "big surprise"?

Wow.  Maybe twenty five of us!  Woo!

(Although I haven't been an Amiga (as in hardware and software) user in almost a decade now.)

Rather, call me an interested sideliner.
Back away from the EU-SSR!

Kind of anticlimatic.. I want details from show. Is this screenshot showing OS4 running PPC native ONLY?

The idea behind the design was to have something that both looks modern and instantly recognisable as Amiga.

Well the image that magnified Matt doesn't seem very different from my WB. It has only different colours in the mouse pointer and the screen bar. (I like the screen bar white, not gray:P)

So I suppose this wasn't the new default look. I guess we'll have to wait a little bit. (I don't say that it will be very different from the current wb, but in this pic it seems identical with 3.9.)

If I remember right then this was an amiga 4000 PPC from a slovenian guy running 4.0. Didn't see a lot of it. He was playing around with octamed... ;-)

Looking at the screen-grab....

Looks like AOS 3.9 to me, just customized a bit.

I thought we were to look at AOS4.0 here, and there's nothing to tell that it is in fact a PPC-native AmigaOS at this point.  That saddens me, honestly.

There were 2 PPC 4000 Amigas with amiga 4.0 on it.
I played with one of these...

It was pretty responsive...the mouse pointer was a little bit wobbly, maybe it was the mouse.
I ran through the menus, checked some programs (opus didn't work, Ibrowse...). There was nothing 68k based  to try the emulator. Well I didn't see it.
But it looked good, as a say it was responsive and fast, but the amigaone version should be superior to the PPc version. Well it's nice to see they are working on something... And as I said before the release date should be September (this year :-D ).

Well ok, someone needs to add CRSnap or some other WB snapper to those machines but it looks pretty cool from way back here too.

What i like most is seeing an Amiga company doing some advertizing for once. Thumbs up Pointdesign. :) Someone figured out that sales come when ppl hear theres something to buy.

Well, for starters, the pictures are hardly clear. Secondly, I really don't know what you expected? You can't tell much about an OS from a static screenshot anyway!

I just mailed the guy that runs Amiga-klub.si if he could upload some high-resolution pics on Amiga.org...
Hope he checks his mail today...  ;-)

Honestly ?!  ... I can't imagine anything that they could have shown that would resolve in a positive reaction from your side!
