Despite claims of ownership by SCO in the recent sale, Novell points out that SCO didn't own the technology, they just licensed it.

If you do write, make sure you letter is well over 1000 pages long and give strong implications that YOU own some of the UNIX IP (but you're not sure what and you don't intend to tell them), and that you would like SCO to be paying you money... make sure there are several hundred refernces to documents which don't exist, but fully support your case... that should tie them up for a bit while IBM can "be the daddy" :-D

SCO wasn't selling UNIX(tm) to Microsoft and others, they were licensing it.  SCO's license with Novell from 1995 allowed them to sublicense it to others, but they did not own it and therefore could not sell it.

@Damien

Sounds similar to AInc and the Amiga IP.  (Other than a single
trademark for AmigaDE, the remainder still are listed for Gateway)
Try blazedmongers new Free Universal Computer kit, available with the GUI toolkit Your Own Universe, the popular IT edition, Extremely Reliable System for embedded work, Enhanced Database development and Wide Area Development system for telecommuting.

SCO and Amiga Inc, what an interesting parallel between two companies heading for the boneyard.  Oh wait, Amiga Inc was threatening law suits last year, guess they are a whole year ahead of SCO in their death spiral. =)
