Nova Design, Inc. Announces Atari 2600 Modules
« on: April 01, 2003, 07:32:14 PM »
Nova Design, Inc., the leaders in graphics software for the Amiga, announced and demonstrated brand new products to support their ImageFX and Aladdin 4D product lines. Designed to take advantage of the wide availability of inexpensive Atari 2600 systems, these modules will allow ImageFX and Aladdin 4D to accelerate their rendering speeds by an incredibly modest amount!

Atari 2600 Render Stations

Atari 2600 systems, in various models, are available for next to nothing these days. You can even buy modern revivals of this classic console for less than twenty dollars American. Combine this affordability with the latest concepts of processor overclocking and you can accelerate these bargain systems up to 30% faster than they were originally clocked!

Amiga Connectivity

The ImageFX and Aladdin 4D cartridges come with cables that allow you to string up to 500 Atari 2600 systems in parallel to your Amiga system. All told you can achieve speeds nearly approaching that of the original Phase 5 Amiga PowerPC accelerator card – but at thrift store prices! Literally!

Only Nova Design, Inc. brings the power of a ridiculously meager render farm to your Amiga for no more than the cost of change found in your sofa.

Module Pricing

With the wide availability of recycled ET game cartridges, we’ve been able to transfer our ImageFX and Aladdin 4D render modules to these cartridges for mere pocket change. Again, we do not exaggerate! This saving allows you to purchase these moderate accelerators for only $6.66 per cartridge.

Due to the nature of this offer you can only buy these on eBay or your local Thrift Store – which will be convenient since you’ll be there to buy the Atari 2600s as well.

Now this is what I call foward retro reverse thinking! Look into the past to create the future by thinking outside the beige box and creating the next paradigm!

Today I made someone believe he got kicked out of his apartment.

He was glad when he found out that the letter was false. ;-)

Sounds like an april fools thing to mee... Lets take this... 500units * ((Atari2600 bargin on Ebay = 1) + 6.66$ per accelerator unit) = 3830$ hmm... sounds like a loss if you compare it to a PPC board like in the post (wich by the way doesn't say if it's an 603 running at 160Mhz or an 604 running at 233Mhz). Lets just for fun say that this was to be true then what about the power consumption of 500 Atari2600's??? Would eat up the cost of any PPC boards in no time.

Still funny though... almost got me at the beginning. :-D

This one is too easy.
I mean atari2600 my Casio clock got more computingpower than that.
Apple did it right the first time, bring back the Newton!
