F someone buys os4 for his blizzard ppc and then hacks it to run on pegasos is that piracy?

Yes, it is if you use it both on the Blizzard PPC and the Pegasos at the same time. Just to be safe, two copies should be purchased.  It's the same as it I make ADF copies of my AmigaOS 3.1 disks to install under UAE while still using it at the same time on my A1200.

The ads on personal name searches (Ben Hermans, Dave Haynie) have been removed, but searching for "Amiga One" still produces a Thendic ad. This is appropriate, if Thendic wants to do it, as I posted over at ann.lu. Just my opinion, of course, but logical since a searcher looking for info on the Amiga One, a PPC desktop computer, would naturally also be a potential customer for a Pegasos (PPC desktop computer). Thendic's link doesn't imply any corporate or other official connection to the Amiga One itself.

So is Mr. Buck, and in a sence ( I feel) by his statements promoting/encouraging piracy of AmigaOS 4.0.

LOL!

He is stating simple facts. Maybe a bit unprofessionally, but still. I think the days are over
when heads of companies are wearing tie and a
gray ugly suit, gray hair and glasses, making statements pre-written by paid marketing-professionals, looked over by high-payed lawyers
and postprocessed with dolby-surrond effects.
Atleast in the Amiga-arena :)

Atleast theese guys care, and can make fools of themselves for it. Or would you rather have a conversation with  Medhi Ali or Irwing Gould.:)

G3/G4 Scalable and Upgradeable  Runs linux and amiga® applications

That is what the bottom of the ad says when you search for "Amiga One" or "AmigaoOne". I just find the last part misleading as it won't run AmigaOS 4.0 applications, as far as I know.

I just did a search at google for "financial services minister yanagisawa" and alongside the results was an ad placed by saxophones.co.uk. Apparently the saxophone retailer is using what we now know is unethical parasitic advertising to take advantage of  the good name of Mr. Yanagisawa, even perhaps suggesting that Japan's Financial Services Minister plays or even endorses the saxophones on offer. This is incredible and demonstrates how low sax dealers will stoop to snare an unsuspecting customer. I just may have to contact google to alert them to this fraudulent behavior. :-x  :-D

In the context of a search on the terms "AmigaOne" and "Amiga One", yes.
It's at least ambigous. It should say old or older Amiga applications.

Yes, you should. There is obviously an error somewhere.

The mystery is solved: Yanagisawa (not connected to the Finance Minister) is a saxophone maker. :-)

he wasin't encouraging piracy in fact the works legally optained copy where used. IF someone buys os4 for his blizzard ppc and then hacks it to run on pegasos is that piracy?

Refer to “end user license” for conditions and terms.

Saying in effect that "if pirates buy my hardware then
great!" is a big no-no. He will not later be able to claim
the hardware on sale is not intended to be used for
piracy and the usual disclaimers will not apply.

If this was the CD market and he brought out a mini-disc
player he would be nailed to the wall by the CD industry
for this and distributers would refuse to stock his equipment
in mainstream stores.

The current attitude of the industry is to actively discourage - not to accept
the realities of the situation. Anyone who "accepts" piracy
is ostracized.

The context was a public threat to Amiga Inc over its licensing
strategy.
Hate figure.

Well, I arrived as when I saw that Samface posts
the same-if not worse-stuff that he posts on ANN...
I'm not here to correct any mistakes Thendic did.
I can sure keep it civil, until Samface overdoes it:)

Dunno about PPCBoot but it did run with the old BIOS
in the same way it did on the TerronCX prototypes.
