Damn, that what I always wanted to avoid   :-D
1. Make an announcment.

4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.

I'd really like to have a mousemat or something useful instead of a probably to big, pösig and wide-armed t-shirt. I'm not going to change my fashion just because I use a certain computer.
I relly hate these commercial lowbudget (I reckon it'll be lowbudget) t-shirts.
Why not an amiCoke? Anything but a t-shirt, oh yeah, ofcourse no socks please. Tubesocks that curls and sweatens your feet, uaek.
8-)
But maybe that's just me.

So if you see anothor Kronos-post that doesn't include any technical questions/facts, you should try to view theam as a joke.

Well, I'll try to keep that in mind. But the line between your 'jokes' and bashing are thin and they might not be 'jokes' for the people involved.

I dont mind if anybody jokes about the Amiga Inc and all their turns, but I would like to see more respect from everybody  to people like the AOS4 team, MOS team, bplan, Eyetech who all try to make a diffrence.

That's a nice one. I allready had an idea for another avatar. Maybe I will make it some day. Something else instead of the bucket. It sure helps because I have not had a visit from the government yet.

Keep up the good work but dont let Amiga.org sink to the current levels of Ann.lu and Moobunny.
Amiga.org isn't sinking.  You guys really need to relax and accept that while almost everyone here wants the Amiga to succeed (including Kronos) not everyone shares the same "mindless automaton cheerleader" attitude.

Some people are zealots, some are realists.  Both want the Amiga to survive, but some are simply more realistic about it.  Besides, diversity is our friend because it keeps you thinking for yourself.

If there's one thing I cannot stand, it's people who get their opinions on life around them from CNN.  Likewise in the Amiga community, I really can't stand the people (I used to be one) who get their opinion from the pages of Amiga.com and never stop to read between the lines or to realize what is really being said.

Over time, I strongly believe more damage has been done to this community by the cheerleaders who, despite being told otherwise, refuse to believe that Amiga isn't simply following in Commodore's footsteps trying to compete with the likes of Microsoft and Apple.

There is no sane path between theese two, because they are both the same !

There is a welldefined path between those two types; don't believe anything you hear/read, dont expect anything until you have it in your hand and try to think for yourself. Add some optimism to this and you are on it.

And I dont put Kronos on the basher/worshiper side

I put Kronos in the basher side since he always believes the worst and lacks optimism. This view is ofcourse very subjective.

What truth? I think it is very clear that Kronos is only intrested in his own truth. And ofcourse he uses reason in his argument. He is a smart guy so I wouldnt expect anything less.

Yep...sometimes Kronos seems like a big ole pain in the arse when you read his posts.  But he also knows where the line of sanity runs.  I don't think Kronos is a true bad "Troll" here, he just plays devils advocate with a set of scales to make you think about other possibilities.  Not that most of us need it, but maybe a few.  There is alot of reality in what he has to say, although it does sound negative alot of the time, it's hard to distinguish between the way something would sound if you were haveing a direct conversation with someone vs. typing text on a forum....meaning sometimes gets lost in the way the user reads a sentence (take a look at the topic on "Exec is 68k" stuff)  Just try to keep an open mind about things.  It's good to have a certain amount of optimism, but also healty to have a dose of reality to even it out.

But the others mentioned from Ann.lu, yep, they are the true Trolls.  I rarely even read posts there anymore..it's just not worth reading.

No, but if you take a look at Ann.lu, Moobunny and SCAM you will notice that the discussion today has sunken several levels. Most threads are filled with all these fights (Ainc vs MOS, H&P vs Amithlon, Amithlon vs Amithlon, Ainv vs H&P....). It is very hard to find any threads with constructive discussion.

Yes, there are zealots that get this "Amiga"-thing over their heads but I dont think they inflict and real damage since they buy the hardware and the software. The people I think hurt the comunity the most are the bashers - the people that bash everything they dont agree with or like. I dont blame them for bashing Amiga Incs anouncements, but when they bash people that spends their spare time and/or pocket money to contribute to this dying platform I think it has gone too far.

Let's hope the future brings more respect to the members of our tiny fragile community.

@Wayne,

Hear, hear, and hear, hear again!

I vote for a permanent link to that post from the front page of Amiga.org!
"Forum guidelines: Think."

When I want to passively read marketing and press-releases, I'll go to the corporate site. The news-item comments and forums here are for discussion.

Of course I'm not saying that agreement with and praise of something coming from A. Inc. is automatically "wrong", I'm saying that since this is supposed to be a forum for discussion people shouldn't be surprised when they actually see discussion and different opinions.

When everyone in a forum says the exact same thing, then that forum is dead and no longer fills any meaningful function. Then it's nothing but a sickening circle-jerk.

Basher of reality pherhaps :)

Basher of un-truth, hype, etc..
That fits me atleast.

Some people are this way, I find life easier to
cope with, if I think and anylyse things instead of
just follow all the shiny objects.. :)

@Wittgenstein

I hear what you are saying, but Kronos is not a troll. Personally i wish Kronos wouldn't be so negative by default, and I think at times he unwittingly spreads false information. But I don't think he is here to troll. look at some of the world class famous Amiga trolls. They deliberately are foul mouthed, use personal insults and spread completely false information just to start as much conflict as possible.

In a nutshell just because I completely disagree with Kronos, doesn't mean I think he should be silenced. Yeesh, I'm defending Kronos. Thanks for the avatar bud :-x

The trolls are for me people that lie and make up thing in their minds and then go you and shout about it. Kronos is certainly not a troll, since he try to makes good and, as far as I can tell, truthfull posts. But I still think he is a basher since the posts are sometimes negative, destructive and pointless. I just want him to be a little bit more positive, or at least keep the negative energy to himself since I am sick of it.

Good news, I think the club needs a new name. Can't think of any good ones straight away, though. Might not need to be anything fancy, though. "Club Amiga"? "Hardcore Amigans"? "AmigaCore"? "Amicore"? "Defenders of Amiga"? Anyone else have any ideas? Certainly someone should be able to come up with something half-decent?

Hey Lyon, why not enter the logo contest? :-)

Oh, and I want an AmigaOS4.0 T-shirt...

"rewritten article ...."

This is how it should have been worded from the beginning to
make A.org look like a REAL news-site instead of a fan-club.
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else
