Filters for AudioGalaxy
« on: June 19, 2002, 11:40:20 PM »
The service of exchange of files MP3 within the peer to peer service AudioGalaxy, finally agreed this Monday 17 June to install filters to block any musical file transfer of protected works.

From now on, so that a music can be downloaded via AudioGalaxy, the artists, composers and the labels concerned will have to give their express agreements before.

Due to this, I have started writing an Amiga client for Neo-Modus Direct connect. Already it can log in and send a sharelist to the server (after one evenings work :), so with a little luck an early beta will be ready soon.

Those wanting to try out Direct Connect under windows can try out DC++, which is a good alternative to the bloatware rubbish that is the official client :)

They're not going to have much luck getting "express permission" from artists like Alan Lomax... they guy's been dead for more than 50 years! Stupid that they are blocking his downloads too- the artist is now legally free of copyright...

Oh well... kazaa lives on....
