I think we need both ports and original games. Ports because:
-There are some really good games out there that we can get access to for a lot less effort and resources than would be required to make original high-quality titles.
-There are some games without which some of us can't live :-). I have it that way with Alpha Centauri, and I heard someone mention Halflife. As long as these game doesn't exist for the Amiga, we'll have to use other systems.
-Porting is the quickest and most efficient way of building up a good software base.
Original games we need because:
-They can help sway users to switch platforms.
When it comes to what type of games: I have a PS2 to complement my Amiga. This gives me access to a lot of brilliant console-style games, such as Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy X, Metal Gear Solid 2, GTA3 etc. However, it does not give me satisfactory access to typical PC-style games, such as strategy and FPS games. There are some games in these cathegories, but not many, and most of them aren't really as good as they should be. The reason for this is for the most part that console controllers aren't really suited for these games, but there are other problems as well. Anyway, I think Amiga developers should focus on the type games which are the typical for personal computers, such as strategy and first person shooters. Oh, and adventure games. I want Monkey Island 3! :-)
