Nice A500 hardware for sale - GVP A530 and GVP HD8+
« on: May 11, 2009, 09:48:16 AM »
Hi there,

I recently towerized my A500 and I can use A2000 hardware now so I can sell my beloved GVP cards to someone who may love his A500 in her natural form  ;-)

So here is what I've got for sale.

GVP A530 card with 68030/40 MHz (full version with MMU), FPU 68882/40 MHz, Guru ROM 4.13, SCSI HDD and currently no memory. If your offer will satisfy me I'll drop in 8 MB of GVP memory that was included with this card.
Also card comes with original power supply, software, manuals and box.
It's in perfect shape, looking almost brand new really, no yellowing at all. Can be seen on some of my photos in gallery.

GVP A500 HD+, 8 MB RAM (brand new SIMMs), Guru ROM 3.15, SCSI HDD. This card is not that perfect shape has some little yellowing (matching case of my A500). It can also be seen on photos in my gallery so you can see it's very good shape and yellowing is really slight.
This hard has been modded (2 jumpers resoldered) to use Amiga power instead of external power supply. I will include the power supply and instructions which jumpers should be reset to make it original state.

Both cards come with HDDs of unknown size - probably something between 50 and 270 megs. I know they're fully working as I was using those drives before I upgraded to SCSI -> IDE -> CF adapters which were working just fine with both cards. Also both of them cooperated flawlessly with external SCSI CD-ROM drive.

I can ship nationally or internationally from Poland or UK, it can also be picked up in Poland or UK (London).
I also guarantee those items are 100% working, I've been using them with my A500 for couple of months and never had hardware problems.

If you're interested, just please make me an offer. If the offer is good I may include 8 MB of GVP RAM with A530, and if it's really good I'll also include SCSI->IDE adapter :-)

4.13 is not guru rom. it's regular GVP ROM. Guru rom versions go something like 6.x. Do you have pictures of the inside of the unit ?
I believe in mt. Fuji

Sure - I've put photos of inside and outside of both units, also one showing both of them so you can compare color (HD+ is a bit creamy, not pure white).
Here's the gallery:

Hey guys - there is a lot of questions about asking prices of those units.
I'm counting on about 200 GBP for A530 and about 70 GBP for HD+.
I know that price of A530 may seem high but I'm sure you'll never find unit in such condition for that money...

Hi czarek, I'm afraid I'm am going to have to withdraw my interest, too rich for my blood, my budget was half that.

The current financial climate has made me a bargain hunter first and an Amiga user and collector second.

Good luck with the sale.

Think of it other way - I'll be visiting my London office from Wednesday to Friday this week and I could bring that unit with me so you could save quite a lot of quid on delivery :-)

GVP A530, one of the best looking and nice functioning hardware add-ons ever made for the A500.  I love mine, but did not know it would still be considered to be worth that much money today.  I would still like to find the 286 PC module for it and get my SlingShot Pro card working with a graphics card, or after the ECS Indivision comes out, swap the graphics card for an ethernet card and add it to  my home network.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

I can already see your reply, probably has one of these in it.

I've decided not to purchase the HD8+ so it is still available.  Good luck with the sale!

If you are replying to my message, my A530 is not for sale, so I can't really say what one is worth.  I know that they sometimes go for ridiculous prices on auction sites and are considered to be a high demand item compared to the frequency you see them up for sale/auction.

It baffles me that some people pay so much for an A500 expansion, when they could get more bang for their buck by going to a different Amiga model.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

And if it wasn't crippled by only taking 8Mbytes of Fast RAM it would be a great accelerator.

The DCE Viper 530 is THE best A500 accelerator but I've never seen one for sale for ages.
