Currently, I'm not married, nor dating. I'm working as a colorist for DC Comics, do 3D modeling as contract work and edit pr0n for independent companies in Premiere. I just got another A500, back in December 2007, but I haven't turned it on in well over a year. Mostly, I work in UAE if I need to do something Amiga.

I'll buy a new Amiga when it's either X86 or it's not on a sub-par "embedded board" that costs the same as a decent PC.

[EDIT] - I am also in an EBM band, doing programming and vocals. I track a lot of music to pr0n videos.

Age: 28
I got my first A500 in 1991/92.
Generaly I like Amiga as my indoor hobby, for bad weather and the winther period, and because I had one when I was a kid and now I can afford the things I wanted back then ;-)

I'm an electronic technician, working as a DeWALT technician, same job since 2001.
Lived in Denmark all my life. My home is a little house out in the country, I like the nature.
Live alone, except for my two dogs.

My BIG hobby is my car, Ford Taunus. Owned my first when I was 17. They are hard to find theese days, so I have another car for daily use.
I use a lot of time with some other Taunus "nerds", we have a club ;-)
Amiga and Ford Taunus has one thing in common, they are rare and the prices are going up

In my spare time I like to spend time with my friends, repair almost all kind of old stuff, help some family wich have a large farm close to where I live, or just drink a couple of beers with my neighbour or a couple of friends :-)
A1200, Blizzard 030, 2+32MB ram, 4GB CF, pcmcia netcard, Kickstart 3,1
A600, 2MB chip ram+4Mb pcmcia S-RAM, Kickstart 3,1
CD32 - Just for fun  :-D

I live Port Orchard, Washington and work as a Network Administrator for a school district in Tacoma, Wa.

I'm single, with one kid.
I do alot of coding in my spare time, most recently for the Android cell phone platform. Got three 99c apps on the Android Market that trickle in money each day. Hoping the iPhone ports will do better.

Hey Piru, wanna try to compromise my network?  hehe.

I'll echo the comment..what a great thread!

Let's see, I've owned an Amiga since the first shipment hit Sacramento in October 1985. I was lucky enough to attend the first meeting of the Sacramento Computer Club and meet the guys who later became Digital Creations.  I was the first Secretary for the club.

I wrote for a ton of Amiga mags, including Amazing, Compute and Amiga World, and worked on several user manuals (A-Max, Brilliance, DCTV).

My favorite and saddest Amiga moment, talking with Jay by phone the day they closed the Los Gatos office...

I'm married and retired from my regular job at the California Energy Commission last year. (My wife says to take care of our border collie!)

I did a number of things for the Commission including managing the review of power plants and advising an appointed commissioner.  Since I retired I've been working on a number of contracts in the renewable energy field.

In the spare time I play bass and guitar but no time for a band at the moment.  I also have a nice BMW motorcycle that needs my attention since the weather is improving here!

Cool thread indeed! It does seem that most people are working at IT or some other branch of technology, and I'd wager most are pretty passionate about it too  :-)

Myself, I'm an instrumentation engineer working for a clinical diagnostic instrument and reagent manufacturer. My job is split: The first half is servicing and repairing the existing instruments, the bread and butter stuff you could say. But the fun part is working on the development of a new instrument for the past couple of years. I can't say too much about it now, apart from it's a blood analyzer targeted at large hospitals and labs, and specifically I write some of the firmware contained in some of the instrument's modules. Pretty interesting IMHO anyway!!

Unfortunately the Amigas don't get a look-in in that job, but they're one of many hobbies that absorb all my free time. Hobby #1 is, of course, my girlfriend, who is a classical singer and who I follow all over the place to watch perform. She's followed by my Amigas and Amiga-related projects (MP3 jukebox, web sites etc.), my car (old '95 Golf GTi), photography (Nikon D80 and all the trimmings), music (listening), drinking (German or mainland European beer) etc. etc.
Engineers do it with precision

I own my own computer repair business.  It`s quite ironic that some of the money we make from repairing pcs goes into buying Amiga kit.

I work at the Norwegian NREN (national research and educational network), my card says "Internet engineer" (iirc), but at the end of the day "digital janitor" is probably a better description.

My work involves general sysadming of mostly Linux machines, but also too some degree *BSD, network "gear" from Cisco, Juniper, HP, Dell and whatever. In addition I'm involved in various projects such as eduroam (common wireless authentication across univs/schools of europe, and beyond), IPv6 deployment (services) and various other subjects.

Privatly, I play with Linux on various systems, mostly by using Gentoo/Portage. I run Gentoo on two A1200s and a Mac Quadra 910 and maintain the m68k binary packages for Gentoo. In addition to this I also ofcourse love to spending time with AmigaOS, MorphOS and AROS. My love for amiga started when I as fresh student bought an A1200 to do "type writing" on, back in '94, thanks to a student computer club at the univ, I met other amigans and quickly also got involved with *ix and networking.

My classic amiga collection currently lacks A1000 and A2000B, A3000UX and A3000T, and I never bothered with A1s, pegasos or efika since I had the CSPPC to try out OS4 and MorphOS on. However, the new SAM440 flex is just the kind of system I've been waiting for, so... woohoo!

Other interests involve movies (not only "hollywood", but also european, asian, south american etc), music (focus on "electronica" and "world", I think), archery, playing games that involve hitting/kicking/throwing a ball (currently mostly volleyball), drinking beer, languages (slowly studying russian), going to concerts, knocking myself out on dancefloors, downhill skiing and skiblading, occational ski kiting, swimming, diving... :-)

Wow, great mix of talent and interest here. As for me, first the boring stuff..... IT Admin for networks, databases, window and unix. Before all of that I repaired hardware for about 15 years including just about any brand of computer you can name except for Eniac and Cray.

And for fun... I sail, cycle, make music, cad cam new hardware, and I've recently started an old car restoration project on a basket case 1969 Javelin that hopefully will look more like my avatar and this one day.... American Motors Javelin (Wiki) . But for now you can see what it looks like here...Plaz's car restore project . You'll also see my Mame arcade project in progress and another Defender cabinet I'm repairing. I also have a minimig and GBA1000 board waiting for completion, but I just don't have time to finish them any time soon with kids and so many projects going. Oh did I mention the shed for tools and car parts that's about half built? Hope to have that done this week. See the pic at photobucket. :)

I had a Javelin in the 70s.  To this day, I've always liked the look and lines of the first Javelins.

I'm an unemployed programmer working in my spare time on an extensible LLVM-based compiler called Mattathias and compiler construction kit for it.  I'm also a moderator on the Amos Factory website ( http://amos.pspuae.com/ ).  As you might have guessed, our first language to be implemented with the Mattathias framework will be an Amos-compatible language for the LLVM-supported operating systems.

I could always take a quick peek if you like. That wouldn't be anything like full audit, however.
