1) Further downside in the mechanical hard disk business.
2) Amiga Inc. continues to sit on Amiga trademark with no progress in sight, infuriating those of us that really care.

I predict more updates to programs that people are currently developing, such as WookieChat, OWB and NetSurf.

My 2009 predictions:

1) IndivisionAGA for A4000 released (ok, I cheated on that one).
2) Complete SAM systems sold from a major online retailer with OS 4.1 preinstalled (and that one).
3) An updated SAM MB announced
4) OS 4.2 announced
5) More MiniMig updates + an 'offical' retro case.
6) The legal bullsh*t battle finally coming to an end

 :-D
Life begins at 100 MIPS!

Nice Ports on AmiNet!

1.  After leaving office, 'W' will be indicted for incompetence, corruption, or fraud.  Or all 3.

2.  The U.S. will finally establish a permanent base on the moon.

3.  Our civilization will pass some point no return and will in the future regard the year 2008 as the end of our golden age.

4.  The demand for even the lowliest Amigas will increase (as it should) as the supply continues to shrink.  The community will band together to preserve our fading software. Maybe Aminet will start making CDs again.

I couldn't resist blowing a little sunshine!  Grin.

EDIT
5.  Someone will solve the limits of the Amiga's  date system, allowing the machines to last far into the future..

I think there are so many interesting things going on for 2009 that it’s hard to pick something special. Interesting with the Kryptos on Morph. If I understand right so was it also possible to run truecrypt files on it. I have been using this very useful software (truecrypt) for years and I take it as an omen that programs like these have reached the Amiga world.  Lucky Morph users that can keep their  files in a safe.

One prediction slash hope, have already come true on Aros. Right after New Year the wmvAros 1.01 was out WITH MPLAYER, (OH MY GOD!!!!) playing most media formats. Aros start 2009 with fresh transwarp coils.  Things just fall into place.
Minimig seem to have hardfile support making it even more appealing. Gunnar is back on the Natami. Amikit can perhaps possibly be installed on the machine when it’s ready to hatch.

All that is missing is an A1200 like minimig with hard file support, and then the worry for osteoporosis on my old darling could be put to rest. When she kicks the bucket one can only buy a CloneA? and fit it into the casing and she will be immortal.

The prediction for this year is that one will probably be surprised and amazed, and not in a terrible way.
The world of Amiga is evolving, enduring and prospering thanks to people that choose to do things, not because they were easy, but because they were hard, and fun to do.
