Well, I had the suspicion but it's now confirmed: my A1200 is screwed up.
At some point after performing an ATX power mod (i don't know exactly what I did because it looks just like the mod should look, I wired the ATX connector to the motherboard), it got {bleep}ed.
Now, it seems an issue related to teh IDE controller or maybe the CIAs.
Whenever I power up the computer with no drive connected, it takes longer to boot, but it boots to the kickstart screen and apparently the drive tries to boot from floppy (I don't have any bootable floppies with me to test more).
When I connect my CF-IDE adapter, nothing happens. If I press both mouse buttons to get to the Early Startup menu, it would get there but no mouse movements are recognized. If I disconnect the CF-IDE device, the mouse works fine.
If I connect my hard drive, the amiga makes a slight noise (not even a blip, but a noise similar to a bleep), and flashes very briefly in red, then gets stuck in a (not completely black) screen.
Does anybody have the slightest clue of whats going on here?
I thik I could boot from PCMCIA and use it but I am super pissed off that it got broken for no apparent reason, unless the instructions I followed for the ATX plug were wrong or I severely {bleep}ed up somehow.
Help apreciated
