Ultimately, Amiga.org is tops; outside of that...eab.

Most of the folks who post here and at eab aren't suffering under any delusion that Hyperion will be worth $50m in five years or that any day now the world will embrace poor old creaky Amiga OS (or Morphos, or AROS etc.) and en masse abandon Apple, Windows or any of the dozen or so supported OS choices out there.

IOW, they use the Amiga for fun, which considering the hobby niche is really what it should be about.  Like the guys who push A600's to the max - they don't honestly think "Well this is a better general computing platform that an equally equipped Mac or PC of the same vintage treated to the same types of upgrades".  They do it because it's fun.
Back away from the EU-SSR!

One site I often use for reference purposes, and I find very informative is the Amiga Hardware Database (amiga.resource.cx)
I'm also a frequent visitor to a1k.org

Outside of AO?  Moobunny because of it's Biker Bar attitude, no one gets cut slack.  Yeah, I know the elitist snobs from certain portion of the Amiga Community revile at Moo for being a bunch of trolls. It's pretty funny to watch those exact same people who say Moo is filled with trolls come to Moo to troll.  Like blaming the dog for farting.

AROS-exec use to be my other top Amiga web site, but I'm losing interest fast.  AW still is in my daily visit schedule, people there just amazes me.

Well, for me it's A.org and EAB, in that order. EAB and A.org complement each other nicely, IMHO. Lemon Amiga ? well, let's just say I was treated so badly when I posted on the Lemon C-64 forum, that I won't visit anything with 'Lemon' in it.

;BEGIN Rant
(OK, I was sort-of 'new' to Internet forums ATT, but all I got was demeaning responses, RTFM, etc. Being lectured by people who only run C-64's via emulation...I've had at least one working C-64 since %&$#@ 1983!!  Everyone makes mistakes, and everyone's a 'newbie' sometime...  it would have been better if a Mod. suggested to read a FAQ, remind about the rules, etc. .... (As Red did earlier in this thread) instead they just drove me and several friends away... )

Lemons are sour, Very sour...   :-x
;END Rant

Favourite Amiga pages... Have changed over the years, but the ones still alive I visit:

http://eab.abime.net - Amiga forum, everything, mostly classic

http://amiga-news.de - News site, in German, but always the fastest..

http://morphzone.org - Morphos forum, also many classic users

http://amigaworld.net - Amiga forum, all kinds but focus on OS4

http://amiga.bbs.fi - Amiga Demo scene releases, great one

http://polarboing.com - The Norwegian page, i need to be more active there :)
MacMiniG4 MOS 3.18 rulez ... For music check: Horrordelic Records - Dark Psychedelic Music Since 2011 -

The ExoticA forums are friendly, albeit somewhat quiet at the moment - turns into a catch 22 in a way. noone posts to a quiet forum, so it gets quieter :/

feel free to signup though and help kickstart it a bit!

So far, I think about the funniest thing about this conversation is that unlike some sites, YOU ALL all decide what the content and format of this web site is.

A few years ago, post being royally screwed by Bill Buck, I tried to refocus the site on the Amiga.  I put the kybosh on talking about "Linux, MorphOS, and the other stuff" and all our active members went apes**t.

Result: Morphzone was born.

I tried to focus the site on the classic OS (since 4.x did not even exist -- and still debatably doesn't in any real number to quantify major effort) and got major complaints from everyone.

Result: Amigaworld.net was born.

The end result is that there is a cycle to all of this.  A web site is created as a rebellion against another site.  (Our inspiration was the now defunct AWD).

It grows in number and popularity.  It finds its focus, people rebel and create a new Web site, ala;

AWD begat AO.  AO begat AW.net.  AW.net begat Amigans.net, etcetera.

The difference is, Amiga.org isn't going anywhere.  I just need to actively remind each of you that if YOU want something covered, YOU have a responsibility to help focus the site that way.

I've given up trying to steer this proverbial boat in any given direction because any time I do, it backfires and creates division and controversy in the community, which is absolutely NOT what I want in any way..

I leave you with the comment, just like on the main page.  This is your site guys.  If you want it better, or more focused on something, then step up and help out.  Post news, hit the forums, just have fun...

you know.. building sites which look "good" on ibrowse is painful. the web needs a more modern browser. Ibrowse is handy but not good for day to day use imho

Any Amiga site will do just fine. The important thing to me is [d]conservation[/d] preservation of knowledge.
