@Kees

sorry but . . .why not AGA?

A520 modulator, is a simple RGB>Composite and RF converter.

It simply convert PAL-NTSC RGB screens to TV 15 Khz compatible.

Ciao

Ahh! The 520! I used one of those when the RF-modulator in my A600 died... :-D

I had one of these left over from my A500 days and once tried it out on my A1200, if I recall correctly it only gave me a grayscale output, any ideas why?

The A500 also has a builtin monochrome tv-out.

You must be getting confused with a flicker fixer!
its simply RGB to composite + RF modulation :-)

@Oldsmobile_Mike

Did you have no problem connecting it to A1200?
As I tried to describe I tried to connect something from A500 to A1200 Video port, but found that connector that was supposed to be female, became a male...

The gender of the 23-pin video port has always been the same on all Amiga models.

My old one worked fine with my A4000, but IIRC in PAL mode it displayed grayscale and the screen lost sync.
I sold my Amiga for a small fortune, but a part of my soul went with it.

The unmodified A520 is rubbish. Crap picture. However, it can be modified to give a really sharp SVHS output.
