Workbench 3.0 enchantments
« on: August 30, 2003, 09:46:19 PM »
What more Workbench 3.0 enchantments are there? I have MagicWB, MUI and MagicMenu.

What more are there that is good to have? Any other visual enchantments? NewIcons would not work (I couldn“t acces my hd). Any other programs like it?

@amigamad

NewIcons works great with Kick 3.0 and OS3.0 (used for years).

You can also use VisualPrefs (nice for change quite all of your GUI) and, if you have more than 16MB of ram even Birdie2000 wich places patterns on your windows borders. (all available from Aminet)

Ciao

No offense, but the word your looking for is 'enhancements' . "Enchantments" is a kind of magic.

Also, you might try Scalos. http://www.scalos.co.uk/

I used Urouhack for years under 3.0 & 3.1.  It was a lot easier to set up than VisualPrefs (just create a directory, add a line to S:Startup-Sequence and forget about it) and it changed the window objects (scroll arrows, close box, front-back move, etc.) to very nice gradient XEN grayscale images.  Unfortunately it seems this hack doesn't work with 3.9, which actually detects it and throws up a message "Urouhack sucks!..."  etc.

Has anybody else seen this little cookie besides me?

Also you might take a look at MultiCX, MCP and TinyMeter.  Not specifically visual-related, but otherwise good system enhancers and highly configurable!  Drop me a line if you like, and I'll see if I can dig up any of my old config files or screenshots.

Toolsdaemon is a must I think... magicmenu give it an extra touch. AssignWedge and Arq are also nice, especialy on a newbuilt system before you got all the assigns right. ;-)
