A3070 with Dataflyer 1200 SCSI
« on: October 03, 2008, 02:49:31 AM »
I have a recently installed Dataflyer 1200 SCSI and I have hooked up a A3070. The Dataflyer driver has been installed, but I do not see the drive in workbench or HDToolbox.

Thoughts? I do not have a manual for either the Dataflyer or A3070.

It shouldn't show up in Workbench (maybe not HDToolbox either, at least not as a HD).  Try FindDevice from the IDEFix package.  Also verify that your ID settings and termination are correct.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

Darn, I have a box of 38 used DC6150 tapes and the first 2 put in popped their belt.

:bump:

So the A3070 will not show up on WB or HDToolBox? Do I have to use a program like Quarterback or AmiBack to access it?

The tapes are another issue, anyone know where to source replacement bands? I bought a 3pack of new DC6150 tapes to cannibalize the bands, but that wasn't cheap. Surely someone has experience?

Hi! Red theres a driver on aminet called tape-handler its rasy to configure and setup, you will need quarterback or amiback as well to get it going if this fails check your termination.
cheers

You can't access a tape drive just like a harddisk (sequential vs. direct access devices) and it won't show up on Workbench, you'll need backup software to make use of it.

Yes, as mentioned earlier old tapes and drives can be a pain...  :-o

So... Someone must know of a source for replacement bands? Opening the tape cases and replacing the bands is an easy task, if one had the bands..
