I wonder how long the "new" Amiga-esque hardware + os4.1 will be around for now. There's a good feeling about isnt there? :)

Question is this a good sign or a very bad sign between the AI and Hyperion.  Guess we will find out more on Nov 15th unless AI submits an emergency injunction before then.

I think the GB1000 boards are shipping this week.  So there is the real answer to your question.  Not sure how/why about os4.1 (think you may have meant 3.1)

I know my interest is renewing somewhat.   With the Minimig and now OS4.1 even if with expensive hardware, with a better browser now as well..   It's looking up.. But the question is how long will it last?    Hopefully enough to make a comeback..

But I think the Minimig and it's likely successors are here to stay and that's good news! :)

Thanks,

Neofree

If we continue to see more hardware for Amiga coming (more in the Sam family for instance), then yeah. Maybe it has a chance as a niche this time.

I'm really excited about OS4.1 and I'm really trying to justify buying a Sam for my  birthday (end of Nov).  Time will show. :)
Code 6502 asm or... DIE!!

OS4.1 looks lovely. I just hope some decent software and the odd game gets developed for it.
Amiga 4000, Warp Engine 040/40MHz, CV643D with scan doubler module, Tocatta soundcard, Deneb, 72Meg fast ram, 18 gig scsi hard drive.

If they make OS4 run on PPC Macs, I will definitely buy it, and many others are ranting about a PS3 version.

Hardware is the key if Hyperion is going to be able to pull this one off, so I expect a port some piece of HW that is less nieche-ish than the SAM or A1-boards.

Things like the SAM boards will always be there because of their geek factor, but I doubt they'll be enough to keep an entire platform alive.

On the other hand, RiscOS is still around. :-P
