32GB cf card for sheer speed and silence alone, at least in theory. You see... you may be the firt of the very few to try such a thing. Good luck , I'd be interested to see how it goes.

Amazing how much life an A1200 has with the whole laptop drive connector.

get a bigger card, as 300x speed is irrelevant in amy
too lazy to use shift key properly...

If I were you, I'd settle with the compact flash.  16 gigabytes is a lot of storage on a tiny Amiga.

My A600 has a 40 gig drive, but I'm currently only using 3 gigs of it, and the partitioned space is about 14% full IIRC.  I have everything I need installed, too.

Oh, and accessing anything beyond 4 gigs can be quite a struggle.  Unless you want to install thousands of games, go with the CF.
Code 6502 asm or... DIE!!

CF card without a doubt. 32GB though, that's an awful lot. I installed every WHDLoad game there is and I still haven't filled my 8GB card. Filling 32GB would be quite challenging.
Call me Golan; my parents did.

If you get a 32GB CF card bare in mind you only have a 50:50 chance that it will work (probably lower). Newer CF cards seem to be all "removable" and are more and more incompatible with the Amiga.

If you can get it on "trial" then go for it. (Assuming it is not many times the price of a hard drive!)

If you have never used a CF card in the Amiga there is a short but steep learning curve when it comes to CF card types, "removable", maxtransfer size etc.

Speed is irrelevant. Unless you are using a CSPPC/MKIII the maximum speed is 5Mbyte/s well below the capabilities of most CF cards.

I think he said that he has a few old stock/second hand 4/8GB CF's would they be more compactible... As for price well the 32GB is AU$200 and the 16GB is more then that sooooo this is going to be a big buy.
On the other hand i have heaps of 40/80GB Seagate IDE and a few 2.5" IDE from between 6GB to 60GB. I just thought the CF Cards would be better but now with a chance that there maybe a compatiblity problem I should maybe go with the IDE drives...

I used to have my CF interface securely hot-glued in a 3.5" bay with an extra long IDE cable purchased from Amigakit.com

I then had one CF card strictly for my every day use - word processing, gfx, music, etc. and another strictly for WHDLoad

Then I discovered solid state drives and everything changed lol

Do they correctly activate the HD LED?
Life begins at 100 MIPS!

Nice Ports on AmiNet!
