Anyone's favourites list in AOL screwed up?
« on: July 15, 2008, 04:57:29 PM »
As the title suggests, I logged in today to find my favourites list (In AOL itself) completely messed up - With the majority of the links - Amiga links - Strewn all over the place - And DialBB reporting 7.0Mpbs (Alas, a speed test showed im still running at the normal ~1.5Mbps).

I've also been having some kind of identification error flagging up on sites over the past day or two.

Just wondering if anyone else is :madashell: about this?

Hodgkinson.

You have violated my TOS by mentioning AOL, this is your warning..

Oh.. wait.. redrumloa's TOS is not Amiga.org's TOS... Never mind  ;-)
Someone has to state the obvious and that someone is me!

I remember QuantumLink.  I just did a web search, someone has re-created the service somewhat!   :-o

Didn't they merge with that Ted Turner guy and disappear?

Oh my gosh do those Qlink Images bring back memories. The learning center seemed to have so much potential back then. Vintage 1986 for sure.

I still have a large note pad shaped like a 5 1/4" floppy with Qlinks logo on it. If I can find it I might post a photo in the library. It looks something like this....

@redrumloa: You nearly had me worried for a minute there

I’m not the one who choose to use AOL ;-) It's only 'cause my Dad choose to use AOL that I have to use it as well :headwall:

At the moment my biggest pet hate is the fact that you can never seemingly download something twice. If I ever get a zip file with a CRC error, and try to redownload it, AOL just rummages in its cache and pulls out another copy of the same corrupted file. Grrrr.

(Mods, please move this thread if necessary ;-) )

AOL is screwed up full stop. All I want is to surf the net via an ethernet cable rather then a USB one but it wont play ball. :madashell:

Hold on Fellas! I think you might be confused between AOL (America Online as an ISP) and AOL Instant Messenger (AIM)

He is talking about AIM, the most popular Messenger in USA and other countries.........a highly recommended if not thee must have #1 messenger. Yahoo Instant Messenger would be second and MSN last.

of course IRC is something seperate.

AmigAIM is AIM for Amiga.

CD32 is actually the best Amiga ever made by Commodore!...

Nah, I mean ISP/Browser - E.g. The thing that AOL seems to think that it needs to have a flashy screen with loads of useless buttons for when everything else does just fine with IE or Firefox :-D
