Guess what, Who are all the Doomy's now!!! He has sold one for $280.00 and for your info DOOMY!!! he does not accept paypal, that is why he listed originaly with the bin so he could fluff ebay off, because Aussie sellers & buyers were being forced to use paypal only which they won't accept now thieve bay has decided not to continue to fight it in court.      :devildance:

$280 - not quite what you were after though, eh?

Not sure why this bloke has to make up stories and even create a new user account to big himself up.

This snoopus IS the geeza who has been listing these vastly overpriced A1200s and then coming on here and prattling on like a pox-ridden parrot... Here's the proof...

Here's an A1200 on Oztion (note the seller's name):

http://www.oztion.com.au/buy/auction.aspx?itemid=4686719&d=&sort=0&pg=1&cat=0&view=List&f1=&f2=&type2=&type3=&type4=&type5=&s=&pcode=&dis=0&freepost=

And lo and behold, what do we see on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/AMIGA-1200-500MB-Hard-drive_W0QQitemZ170241148197QQihZ007QQcategoryZ4598QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Unless this is a wild co-incidence, "snoopus", I think your cover (if you ever had any!) is blown :-)

I would just like to say one more thing. Dont bring my son into this argument about writing better English. Bringing innocent children into an argument is just not right and will only piss lots of people off. I only mentioned him in my post because of how delighted i am to watch him use my Amiga which was one of my very first computers (well first 32bit computer anyway as my first was a Commodore Vic20 back in 1985 which i still have). I did not buy a PC till early 2001.

Regardless of your intentions, you did throw him into the mix.  Your delight is irrelevant.  My statement was directed squarely at you, and I will not have my words twisted to look like I attacked your son.

Don't be too pedantic about peoples grammar on these message boards as there are greater issues that people have to face in everyday life such as interest rate rises and the ever growing cost of food and petrol. As long as we all know what we are talking about here, nothing else should matter.

This logic does not even dignify a response.  None the less, I have to point out that having "other things" to worry about does not make an issue any less relevant or important.  There are few valid excuses for poor writing skills, generally reserved for the super-intelligent or the mentally retarded whose brains are simply not "wired" for written communication skills.

I would like to think that you do not fall under the mentally retarded category and, given your arguments, you do not fall under the super-intelligent category, either.  You are just a regular Joe like anyone else.

Why is this pointless thread still running?
A moderator should close this thread so we can move on.

(where's the clapping icon?)

I couldn't have said it better (especially the end part about where we draw the line and communication being paramount for our species). LoadWB for president!

And now on a different sub-subject:

I've been always afraid to admit these to myself, but I've always felt that there was an abnormally high number of looneys using/relatd to Amiga computers.

I could be very wrong here because I don't hang out on "PC users boards" or "IBM XT computer users boards" or Atari forums or other vintage computer forums (bar one - more on that later), but it just seems like it's all too common to have such Amiga "users".

And I'm not just talking about snoopus and Doomy here. There are other very quarky and weird members, although they don't suffer from the sociopathic effects of the two afforementioned souls.

Another one with Amigans: cat owners. Just about every Amiga I've bought has had cat hair in it! What's the deal?

I bet if we take a poll, the cat owners would dwarf the rest (ok, I'm probably wrong, but more than dog owners would be my guess)

The weirdos are all that is left of the Amiga community... Mostly harmless, but some a seriously deluded and one or two are just plain dangerous!

Dogs Rule!

(wierd enough for you?)
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)
