My Amiga is quite slow
« on: May 28, 2008, 10:18:55 PM »
I managed to install a Voodoo4 on my A4000 and I use 1024x768x16 resolution mode. But my Amiga is quite slow. Is that normal? I have a Blizzard 4030 accelerator.

Yes.

Try dropping back to 800x600x8 for most things and use 1024x768 only for your web browser screen.

Better, yeah. Even with my 060 machine I primarily use 800x600 for Workbench and most productivity apps.

I switched to 800x600x8 but the pointer changes colors all the time? Is there any hack to fix this?

I use 1280x1024x16 for my 060/voodoo3 and I haven't noticed any significant slow down compared to 800x600... but maybe that's just me :p

I know that there's a hack to make that effect happen. Maybe you already got it installed and the solution is to remove it.

Huh, there is nothing installed, like a hack or something. I use 32 colors. When I choose 256 everythins seems ok.
