I have roughly 50 working Amiga's.

But I don't think that's what this thread was meant to be; a count.

Seeing that there are no fixed numbers on sold Amiga's makes it even more hard to find out how many of those survive today. I do find them in the strangest places, I am picking up a couple A2000's, A1200's and A500's in a ZOO! (they used them in info stands)

Also there are many stories of people finding them in the dump or skip, makes you wonder how many end up there without anyone seeing...

To reply with regard to original posting...

I guess something between 10,000-15,000 units, disregarding total undisclosed production run for whole platform, I find this figure irrelevant. I'm basing this figure upon a fact this assumptions:

1) Hardcore Amiga user/fan MUST know/heard for A.ORG and therefore is a member

2) Non-hardcore Amiga users/fans vanished on the turn of century, meaning A.ORG is one of maybe 10 sites on the Net still dealing with platform

3) A hardcore Amiga user on A.ORG is more than probably also active member on other forums and vice versa

4) There are over 6000 memebers over here, suppose at least 50% active and alive

5) An average memeber has a least a 4 machines in average

6) Members are still mortal, unfortunatelly.

IMHO, it would be more important to get the accurate numbers on Amiga users, that's the only way platform stays forever.

Not a pink perspective.
Sometimes I got that stupid feeling someone made a bad kiddy joke showing what a dreams are made of and then set the lights-out.

there are millions of potential amigas out there using aros or some varient of uae lets keep going :-D

seriously i think the 10 to 15k might be fairly accurate but i also think it is irrelavent.

number of machines isnt as important to me as number of users and that to me is were aros and uae become important. when it becomes possible to use aros full time there is the potential for alternitive os fans to switch. not everyone loves linux and many people dont like windows.
Oh yeah?!?
Well your stupid bit is set,
and its read only!

I have:
1 CDTV
1 A500

1 A4000 towered
All work and I use the A500, A2000, and A4000 fairly regularly. The only other computer I have is a Franklin Wordmaster that I've had for ages and still use as well.

Nonsense. There are tons of users in non-English speaking countries who just stick to websites/communities in their native languages. Germany for instance has a huge number of Amiga users of which only a small number visits here. And I know of a few people in Holland who use Amigas for fun but don't even visit Amiga sites on the Internet at all.

I have just one.. An old A1000, with rgb monitor, extra floppy and A590 hard disk/fastram extension.  It was working well last time I used it, but it's been long time since...

I've got an A500 and a dual boot Amithlon system, if that counts. ;-)

I have:
1 A1200 setup in tower
1 A500 desktop
1 A2000 in desktop
And they are working very nice
+
I have two (or tree) more A1200, tree A500 (all kick 1.3), and one A2000 spare main boards.

None of them are for sale, but i am trying to collect more components to put them in a fully working order.
However. my tree primary amigas are at the highest priority, they still need some work...

EDIT:

Amiga 500+ Os 2.1

I am too scared to try my A1200.  It worked fine last Time I tried (about 2years ago) except the power switch broke and I had to bypass it.
