Come on, give the guy a break. No need to contemptuously roll your eyes. I thought your advise was great and will be following it from now on, but there's no call to be rude. I'm sure doctorq will take the advise to heart, but you can't change the past.

Yes, that's exactly what happend. And why I left it with that? There wasn't anything left to do. After the dispute was settle by PayPal, with me as the winner as the seller didn't reply, the sellers PayPal account was simply closed down.

If I were you I wouldn't count on always being so lucky as you seem to have been. PayPal and eBay isn't as flawless as you make it out to be.

@doctorq

i've had them close a ebay account but even then a paypal account is still open. it seems i'd need to see all the facts in that case. don't know what you bought etc or value or they're seller ratings. i'm pretty on the ball with scammers.

No, not your words, but you describe it like all you have to do, is to open a dispute with eBay, and you get it like you want it. Basic fact is; that's not how it works.

it's all i've had to do! alot come down to initial communication with sellers. but scammers are scammers. did you tell paypal of the closed account and the fact you won the dispute.
also some of the people in the thread seem to be trying to punish the seller and have gotten very irrational in communications with the sellers. with experience you have to put this kind of thing behind you. and go on your rights.

Sellers often hold Feedback to ransom on eBay. As a seller, I leave feedback the very moment I receive payment. The buyer has met their obligation and has nothing more to do except wait to receive their item(s). The way I figure it, they deserve their feedback at that time, so I give it. I think this is how it should be.

This is the way I handle transactions. I agree with you 100%. I am fairly new to eBay, But with almost 100 feedback reports, I am still running 100% positive.
I also always use photos of the items I am selling, I think this is only fair!
