Hmm sounds very interesting. I think that most of us here are ready to spend a lot of money on some new amiga hardware.  :-)

Whatever they make you can guarantee it wont be cheap. I think we are looking at prices beyond that of a standard medium cost PC.

If they can truly deliver a "Super Amiga" design with the onboard ethernet, improved graphics SuperAGA, faster blitter, 90mHz 68060 plus the possibility to add faster, more modern CPUs at a later date, 16mb chip RAM and 256mb or more Fast RAM I think they will have something I would be interested in buying and developing for.

It might not be as fast as a PPC OS4 machine, but it could be a better starting place than an old Classic Amigas to add a more modern CPU and OS4 and/or MorphOS.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

This product is confusing people.

I think its supposed to be a replacment for the classic line not a state of the art new PC.

If you want a cool new faster then any current Amiga but still compatible, then this is probably for you.

If you want a quad core PPC running OS4 then good luck to you. It will probably never happen.

Everyone else can be happy with the current Amiga or Modern PC running UAE.

@spihunter,

Yes, I agree, but it is also new hardware that provides an expansion CPU slot that can lead to many different configurations.  One of which could be OS4/MorphOS.  Another direction is an enhanced 68k OS3.9.  Since AmigaOS4.x is already taken and AmigaAnywhere2 is stated to be AmigaOS5, where do we go to name the enhanced version of 68k AmigaOS3.9?

How about OpenAmigaOS1.0?

I for one hope this pans out. I'm already saving my pennies :)
It next to impossible to find Amiga hardware in South Africa as it is - and importing off e-bay or other is financially impossible! I'm still struggling to find a video card and accelerator for my a2000 that is not priced out of the stratosphere! New hardware would definitely be a good thing - I'd gladly pay the price of a mid range pc for it , if it delivers as promised.

I like it.  Maybe call it the Amiga 5000.  I will definitely buy one if it ever gets produced.

Well, we can't expect to be able to use the name Amiga in the new name.  How about SuperAGA2008, or AAA2008? :-D

If it has what is promised I will buy one.

I actually e-mailed them a week ago and they confirmed that the initial dev board has 2 ide ports and a battery backed clock. Simple things, but it doesn't state it on the web page.

If this sells for £400 I would call it a bargain based on piecing together a comparable setup if the current ebay prices are anything to go by,
Amiga 4000, Warp Engine 040/40MHz, CV643D with scan doubler module, Tocatta soundcard, Deneb, 72Meg fast ram, 18 gig scsi hard drive.

I'm buying one, too - no doubt about it.  Not just for the hardware, but also to support to those that tugs the Amiga boat in the right direction.

Keep up the good work, guys.
Code 6502 asm or... DIE!!

As a Minimig owner I'm behind that at the moment but I'm very interested in NatAmi progress too. By the time the NatAmi is available to us the Minimig should be a mature A500 replacement, so we'll have standard and high end Amiga compatibles available. All in all can't be bad!
